Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

They eliminated a role on my team and just dumped the work on me

No extra pay, no discussion, just "figure it out." I'm doing two jobs and burning out fast. Anyone else dealing with this?

Salary is not 40 hrs a week. I don’t know when that expectation changed. Look at your grade level and have common sense.

@cm This! It is your choice to speak up and play it strategically or be a doormat. Do not get bogged down by implicit threats (you are lucky to still have a job especially given the current market). Give your best for 40 - 45 hours as is the contract and then switch over to protect your time.

Don’t allow yourself to be overworked - clearly communicate that you can do A and B but not C and D, or A and C but not B and D. Ask your manager to prioritize your tasks so that you’re getting whatever they think is most critical done, and then there are no surprises as to what you are not doing.

You only have 40 hours. Document everything. Look for other jobs. Too bad the market is terrible.

Yep! Layoffs in my org and I was called to support another group that’s not even part of my role. Having to skill up on this temporary assignment while doing my normal work.
