It's been three weeks since I walked out with zero notice and zero backup. People thought I was crazy. Maybe I am, who knows. But you know what? I sleep now. I don't wake up with that dread feeling. That place was destroying me and leaving with nothing was still better than staying one more day. I'll figure the rest out later.

@14c if you live near an office - bring in your laptop - take a picture of giving it to include the serial number and take a picture of the person and their badge who you gave it to . If you can't get a label- some managers will hold your last check if you don't turn it in
I’ll work half-assed forever. You’ll have to fire me #anonymous
@127 they give you a label, mail it via Fed Ex and track it - if you did not get a label call HR and ask for one. they only want your laptop keep your monitors printer if you have one, headset etc.
OP - How did you get your work laptop back to the company? I work 100 percent remote and wouldn't be at an office to throw it at anyone as I walk out the door. :) I don't trust anyone at the company these days. Wondering if I mailed it back to a nearby IT center, they might deny ever receiving it out of spite. Any advice...???
@ex I started quiet quitting last year, it’s a real load off…. Just putting in time doing the minimum requirements…. It really helps
@es you’re here so what does that say about you lol
I envy you. I wish I could do the same but I have medical conditions and can't do without the insurance even though it su-ks.
@es this sounds unnecessarily snarky. Maybe this person has a need to get things off his chest and close a door. No one knows anyone's story or the challenges they face. I wish the poster who made a hard decision well. Maybe try that
Was this thread started by Elevance Health corporate to get people to consider quitting?
Yeah, you've achieved so much mental clarity that three weeks after quitting you still find yourself posting here
oof
good luck, OP. and the person who tried to out the OP can kindly go fu-k themselves.
Well done! Bravo!
Most of the managers (people leaders) don't deserve any better. Only a few regular employees do from my past experience. I did the same several years ago. Had enough banked liquid to take several months to determine my next steps. Hopefully, you had the same prepared. This place is definitely not worth the stress and negative impact to your health. I know several people that died before they got a chance to retire. That confirmed my decision at the time.
@OP - what you did took courage. I hope everything works out for you.
