@w6 That is in fact correct. It's why a lot of teams don't have 4s and 5s and why others do. If someone gets a 4 or 5 it takes away from those who get a 3,2,1.

@hm I've been looking around both internally and externally. Current team has many great people but the leader is toxic.

I received a 2 rating which is not on par with my mid year review which was on target to meet goals and praised for all my efforts. When small teams have a lot of people who took ERP (they automatically get 100% of AIP) they have to rob Peter to pay Paul… it’s unethical.

I know I am going to get some downvotes here, genuinely curious if we can have some actual leaders who can provide some insights please. Is it a fact your team were allocated a certain amount $, and if you gave some 4s, that would result in the rest left with less? Thanks in advance

Hey if it makes you feel better I was an AVP (quit last year) and HR refused to let anyone get rated above average. Your leader has almost no power, I was an AVP and couldn’t even promote entry level workers who had been there 5 years.

@gx they absolutely do have input on what they can do with the budget given to them. My boss "helped" someone out by giving them a higher rating (and in that case, other employees on the team suffer with their rating.) the manager has control on what stretch assignments they can offer to the employee. Favoritism is a real thing.

I got sc--wed this year. Have been a team lead, a SME, a mentor, ambassador. I get 10s on my NPS scores, have received awards and was told in my review that I am respected by my peers .....BUT I don't push MOPs or PDMRs because I am NOT a sales person, so I got 80%. I am done doing anything extra for these conglomerates. I do what is right for the member. I also had a previous manager who played me dirty and found out through the grapevine that she got an internal offer pulled out from under me. She was responsible for my review. My new manager is awesome but the damage and mistrust is done.

I'll find out this week what my number is. My boss and I both know this is a complete joke and not a true representation of my hard work as their hands are tied on what they can do. This is a hott dang mess yall! The mid level managers and even AD are d-mbfounded and it is out of their control! Leadership should take a hit on their millions and pass this down to the common folk and stop sending our jobs overseas!

You're much better getting a raise by starting a new job elsewhere.

@OP they are lying. We all got 4s.

Jim just let us know the math said 168% but math and figures are just “guidelines” now. So they basically mean nothing and they’ll reduce the AIP. And then go and make it that pretty much no one can benefit from it being over 100%. I’m sure he didn’t reinvest his bonus into stars.

Before you go blaming your manager, just know that they have zero input on your rating and AIP amount. Teams are given a limited amount of money to work with to spread among the team. So most get a 3 very few get a 4 or 5 and some get 1-2. even meeting expectations won’t get you 100% of the individual multiplier, which is pretty sad.

@cp This is completely true. To get 4s required at least AVP approval.

I’ve always been a top performer. But my id--t leader gave me poor reviews for trivial reasons . I took ERP and left. But I have nightmares of being reviewed terribly sometimes. It truly traumatizes people. Not the money, but the total insult and humiliation. That’s why Humana is going down, will go down further, leaders lost human touch. Run away if you can.

I got a 3 also. Funny thing is... I was above all my metrics and volunteered to do extra. Well this is deflating. They drop us from 168% down to 112%. With a 3, my multiplier was only a 95%. So in 2026 instead of giving 100%, I will drop it down to a 44% to give back the same courtesy.

@OP 3 is the new 4. Trying to save on paying bonuses.

Resilience! More resilience! We’ve been in a constant state of flux with limited constants and even less job security. How can we be “one team, one dream” or “caring, curious, COMMITTED?🤔” when we never know if the next hastily scheduled meeting will be our last?

It’s enough to make me puke.

I had heard that 3 would be standard and managers would have to fight for a 4.

Humana is like that rich sugar daddy whose business isn't doing that great, but he still gives you great benefits and spoils you so much with benefits that you stay around even if he beats you. You just have to disconnect from the trauma bond they have you in and go.

Corporate isn't a place that is fair. If you don't have a Leader that truly cares about you and believes in fairness, you have a boss. Those spineless dingleberries just give everyone 3's whether they are performers or slackers because they lack the backbone to hold people accountable.

They showed you their cards, now just play the card of an employee that performs at a 3...no better, no worse. 😉

Is your manager going to the bars with some of her employees and giving higher ratings to them? We may work in the same department

If you've gone over and above for Humana, you clearly lack the intellect to deserve any more than a 3 and that was likely a charity rating...

@a2 I’m sorry this happened to you. Can’t say the same hasn’t happened to others, including myself. If you were rated a 3- perform as a 3. Do the minimum to meet expectations. Work 8 hour days, take breaks, lunch. PTO, and mental health days when needed. This is what your peers that su-k up and directors do. Be better to yourself.

Omg. I say respectfully, get a life.

I was where you are now. Give 110%, they'll give you 80%. Its a rigged game, where they want you where you are on their org chart for a reason. Every chess board has many pawns in it.

Making money for random shareholders shouldn't be the focus of your life, at all.
