Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Why Ford no longer advertise the Salary for posted jobs? - End of interest for their jobs

Before the salary range was said, now there some verbiage leading you to nowhere.

Base Salary is determined based on candidate skills and experience bla bla bla and bla bla bla competitive market value.

It reminds me the interview joke, trust me, my skills are awesome.

The links work. Do you need help to read the information? Hopefully you know someone who can show you how to access them.

@a9 a bit of a niche answer, but I’ve been looking at ford’s motorsports and ford performance/racing positions for over a year now, so my rationale was at least it likely won’t be the same issues that come with being on the production side. No friends or anything telling me this, but more just looking for the work since Ford’s investing into a lot of new program activities. Also not a response to you, but more to OP, position was posted lastnight and gave the same usual generic salary range:
This position is at salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480 to $ 121,440.

This position is at salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480 to $ 141,360.

They actually used to link the benefits book then say eg 5-8, you can still see on postings ~90+ days old, but changed it recently. I have a stable income and situation, and multiple options, but ford is only one. More just an experience thing, if I like it, I like it, then I’ll stay longer, but ultimately I have a certain company and function in mind I plan to work toward regardless.

Ford used to be a top rated company to work for. Now they chew you up and sp-t you out.

And to think they thought the train station would be a tech hub and attract world talent to Detroit. How d-mb is Bill Ford?

most likely a position in a market that doesn't require salary range disclosure.

@OP

I dunno, but what I do know is that if someone is fighting in any way to get into Ford right now they need to seriously re-evaluate options. If you currently have a stable income and situation....why?

If you have a situation you need to get out of - I know its hard to see forward but just think of how much worse it could be if you moved, and then they cancelled something (failed again) and your job was gone within a year or 2. When you sign on with an employer, you are putting a lot of determination in their hands that they will give you tasks worthwhile that move the company forward.

Even given the headlines and recent press the last few years, do you think you'll get this at Ford? Do you have any acquaintances there telling you so? If you do what would be their motivation to ignore past performance of the company? Maybe get you in so the bear eats you 1st? Never know.
