You don't get a raise with your promotion, but you lose overtime. So you end up making far less.
@fx can you explain? B6 to B5 puts them in a different pay bracket.
They hand out title promotions to stop paying overtime. Most people don't realize you effectively take a huge pay cut when you get promoted from B6 to B5.
They hand out title promotions like candy samples now. No merit involved at all.
