So basically in a year it will be Texas call center and corporate office with most else being rarities after all the layoffs/outsourcing/automation?….

Most of us are hearing about layoffs informally via this site, and there is no formal communication from SLT. That uncertainty creates anxiety and confusion. It would really help to have transparent, proactive communication directly addressing what’s happening and why (GCC!)
At the same time, some teams that genuinely need headcount are struggling to fill critical roles, likely in part due to strict in-person requirements. It’s hard to reconcile this with the fact that senior executives in the same organization are able to work remotely from other states (the 🌞 state, more specifically)
How does this align with other priorities? We’re seeing highly qualified professionals impacted, while other areas are under-resourced. What’s the broader strategy here, and how are decisions being made?
Does anyone know the total headcount affected by the recent layoffs last week? It seems the GCC India, originally meant for bringing contractors in-house, is now being used to replace US full-time employees. I never expected the company to go this low just to save couple of $$. If you check the GCC’s (Staples India) career page and see your job title with similar responsibilities as your’s, your role is likely being outsourced. It's only a matter of time. Buckle up folks
Yep, it's going to keep happening. Better update resumes now because no one is safe sadly.
Any impact to Quill?
They also gutted support, field sales cut in half thanks to automation
Also Merchandising, IT and Marketing were hit
@OP Yep. Massive lay off. I was one. We're just a number.
Own Brand, Sales Enablement, Lead Management
Several own brand teams were let go - they are being offshores to the Philippines along with several FL based inside sales teams later this year once the Manila call center fully goes live in Q2.
I haven’t heard that, but considering it’s a ghost town at corporate, it wouldn’t surprise me. What happened to four days a week. lol.
