Approached to come back?

Hey everyone. Ex-FR here from a PM Market, laid off beginning of the summer. just got the strangest text. My old boss has reached out to me and said that there is an open FR position. I’m curious if others have been approached due to people jumping ship or if because SMP didn’t go well and they need more hands on deck? Don’t think they can offer me enough that would bring me back after I’ve tasted freedom along with kicking me to the curb after 9 years out of nowhere.

Coming back to a company that you left (either on your own or by force) it's always a bad investment. People should just move on with their lives, this company is now an Indian company and nobody should waste their time with it.

Also, what's a PRS? Why your manager have your personal phone?

If I could continue WFH and got a few dollar pay bump I could see myself coming back as a PRS.

@tk If that's the case I don't understand why they're still getting rid of very experienced people at GN to this day

From what I’ve heard (I was also laid off in August as a PRS), other departments and teams are recruiting ex employees to try to come back to compensate for where the GCC folks or offshore teams are falling flat/short. I have a friend in Gracenote that said they’ve brought on two ex-US PRS’ that left on their own accord a while ago… almost seems like they’re trying to bring back people that aren’t aware of what the fu-k has happened at this sh-t hole company over the last few years.

@OP that has to make you feel good that your ex-supervisor asked you to come back which means you did a great job as a field rep. That has to be a tough decision and I’m sure you’ll make the right one that’s best for you. I wish you the best!

Depends on where you are financially, but I would tell him to go f himself (I blocked my boss after I got laid off)
