If you make a lateral move, does your pay remain the same? Does bonus % change? Not sure if anyone here has experience, but considering applying to an adjacent role (Currently a Senior System Analyst) but the role I'm looking to apply is a regular System analyst. Not sure what that would mean pay wise. Does everyone at TIAA get the same bonus %?

@OP if you are in IT (like I was) you should leave this place (like I did).
Don't apply for a lateral (rather in your case) for a demotion just to stay here.
Writing is on the wall, leave if you can, while you can...
LMAO — pathetic.
There is a large range ($80k to $100k) for base salary for every role. Offers are generally going to be consistent with what other people currently in the role are being paid. VC targets are a fixed % based on the role.
Ask the recruiter what the variable comp percentage is for the new role...
Each job is coded and goes by job code
generally IC is 15% and PL is 20% of base pay
@OP No, different roles have different target bonus. could be significantly different. If you apply to the role with lower rank, try to negotiate to keep the current one.
@OP it depends on how it's coded in the system I think, i.e. IC# or PL#. Different bonus targets depending on that coding. But HR makes that almost impossible to find.
following... in a similar boat as well
You’ll likely be topped out at pay on the new role. I had this happen before here. The hiring manager told me that I would be at the highest range of pay, so pay increases would be essentially nonexistent.
