I have no problem with 4 days back in the office starting 3/30/28 but can we please have our frigging desks back??? I don’t want a HS locker with a combo lock I need to contact building maintenance to open up for me every 2 weeks. If the powers that be want a return to normality, how about starting with our own desks around our own teams!!!!

I usually keep a bottle of Sommers Eve in my locker. You never know when you might run into Sol one evening for some karaoke and fun
Of everything I’ve seen in recent years, the stripping of workers’ dedicated desks is perhaps the creepiest. Layoffs if there’s a business case, I do understand. But I will never understand why an organization would so aggressively dehumanize and channel disdain for the workers who are keeping it running.
The trend to replace assigned cubes with unassigned stations is due to C-suite indifference and greed. The trend to replace the unassigned stations with very long desk-tables and chairs crammed into each other is due to Indian culture importation. In one of the local yet global companies, Indians tore down all team rooms and replaced them with tables upon tables and chairs upon chairs. Sort of like the 1950s era corporate office, but everyone shares the same desk-table with bunch of people, 50 chairs on each side. This prompted several people to quit. In another global company, they subjected to this very treatment contractors, of which many also quit. The message is: you are not human, you are an animal, swine. Go and play in your pen and shut up.
Let’s stack the coaching teams in the middle of the floor to all talk so loudly that no one on the other end can hear anything. It’s been a problem for over a year, tons and tons of complaints from those trying to get support and still no one gives a S&$$!
If you have ideas to make anything better, no one cares. Just go find your F$$$$ desk and deal with it.
I'm getting up in my years, but not in the boomer group. I'm not sure you guys should be casting stones. Some of the boomers success was built by raiding the coffers of future generations with crazy amounts of gov spending. We have insane debt almost entirely because of you guys, and that's not going to end well. It's not the only reason boomers were successful, a lot of it WAS hard work, but that gov credit card use was savage and the bill will be left for younger folks. That's something the boomers are responsible for. Gotta own it.
boomers su-k, retire already ya fu--ing nerds

Not just that, they intentionally layout offices now such that no one is allowed to have any privacy. This is ridiculous for those of us that actually really do need it for our jobs. The execs simply don't care. Will it negatively impact morale? Then it's what they want to do, because that's all they care about.
It's ridiculous. I sit in a pod across from someone who doesn't understand office etiquette, is very loud and slams his hands on his desk when he has (self inflicted) tech issues. Now that it's back to 8 hours in office, it's getting progressively worse.
Not only will we not get assigned cubes again, but cubes are going away. They’re restacking all over and it’s just table workstations. No cubes. You think it’s noisy now, wait until you have people 2 feet away from you from every direction.
@c3
au contraire mon amis.....LMAO. Have you been on a conference call lately? Background noise from the cubes surrounding whomever sure do sound like minions....lots and lots of minions.....
There is no office comraderie if everybody is a hot-swappable cube minion. Well actually the Minions have tons of comraderie but Minions aren’t real.
They don't want you to be comfortable. Comfortable employees are less likely to quit.
as Americans we typically buy $100 of food and eat only half.
You want some additional math using the $100 grocery analogy - why do we need to pay DF his whole salary when AI can do his job in 5 minutes? Why do we have to pay $150 in parking when we only use it 16 times a month?
Why pay for $100 in groceries but only eat $80 worth of food????? Apparently we are not at our desks enough to deserve an assigned one.
You must be a Boomer or close to it
You actually keep stuff in the lockers?
