Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

L3Harris layoff 11/6/2025

This company is bloated with management, too many. So they lay off good engineers to keep their job safe.
Very unethical behavior at L3. Government needs to assess before awarding any further contractsm

L3H’s new motto should be
“The Trust evaporates here”

Job expectations at L3Harris were unclear from the start, with frequent changes in direction and upper management turnover. Despite repeated assurances from leadership that there was ample work available, I spent nearly six months on the bench with only one internal interview during that time. The internal job search process felt ineffective and largely performative.
Hard work and patience were not meaningfully recognized, and communication from leadership lacked transparency. Eventually, I was placed on an assignment that appeared promising, only to be laid off unexpectedly shortly afterward. The sequence of events made the situation feel poorly handled and left the impression that employees on the bench are used to protect management positions rather than being genuinely supported.
Overall, the experience was disappointing and undermined trust in leadership and workforce planning.

If you layoff worker bees, then you don't need as managers to manage them, do you? It will be interesting to see how many management slots got eliminated.

What's it going to be this time? Another 5% of the workforce? Or 10% ?. Does anybody know?

Whoa whoa whoa, now. There's degreed engineers who probably can't spell "honorary engineers".

There are two kinds of engineers at l3. The engineer is that went to school, got a formal education and are able to present an authentic degree. And then there are the ones that were given the title engineer because they work there a long time and kissed somebody's a-s. I wonder if any of those " honorary engineers " were laid off.

The union people get a $2,000 bonus this year and next year plus a 5% pay increase each year for the next 3 years.... but they're laying off engineering and management.. 😂.
And you left the union for a management job... stupid is as stupid does. You dummies!

This place doesn't even know the meaning of compliance and if they ever had real auditors come in and look at what is going on they'd be cooked

Does the government actually care about any of that stuff? History says absolutely not

The government will continue to do business with them, they'll overrun and keep it running as is, so long as the money is flowing

Hopefully people considering employment with such a horrible company will take into consideration the warnings. If you were layed off, now is your chance to free yourself from the beast and move on with your lives.

@OP
Sorry to hear this especially with the holidays approaching. It’s true the company is bloated. They need to be cutting Directors instead! It’s unbelievable the amount of new Directors added within the last two years while ongoing layoffs. God help us.
