Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Favoritism is alive and well - that we can always count on - how about your dept?

Just have to share how a talented, skilled associate with a stated goal of promotion was passed over for someone with far less talent, skill set, respect among her peers etc.

Why - 2 reasons - She speaks her mind and doesn't blindly agree to every stupid idea and process ( not in line with core values as you may know). And her recent failure to meet ridiculous metrics - due to mentoring a new hire. Meeting metrics - the sole gold standard to MEET expectations

Just found out this site existed and had to get this off my chest - what a weak leader we are stuck with. Choose a lackey, anger the majority of the team, and prove to everyone how sickeningly toxic this place is. My notice is coming - I can't stand it anymore and neither can my peers.

Favoritism has been going on for a very long time and it's just getting worse every single day. I've seen multiple promotions be given simply because they were friends. They don't have increased responsibility, just more pay to do the same or less than others do. It won't get better until someone opens their eyes to the obvious and actually cares.

Sadly, I have seen the same thing in every department I have worked in at EH. I would speak up for the first two years I worked here to try to improve things, and most times got punished for it. After seeing how management operated here, I just keep my mouth shut about everything now. Even if I do have a good or better idea, I just keep it to myself. Sc--w them! I am not that far from retirement, so hopefully I will get to watch this place fall apart from a distance if upper leadership is not changed out soon.

This company thinks disagreeing with something stupid is someone being negative. This company has a toxic positivity problem. You can’t say anything if that isn’t somehow telling your leaders they and their ideas are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I’ve been here a long time. I don’t give my opinion on anything anymore as I got riffed once and learned my lesson. It’s sad that this company is so damn fake it’s sickening. Plus so many good managers have been riffed or left due to RTO that now we have a lot of su-ky leaders and people who should’ve never been managers in the first place. I don’t think it will ever get better.
