I’m interested to see how Belk will manage this situation. It was expected that problems would emerge due to reduced hours and a lack of adequate personnel to cover store operations, especially during closing hours. I applaud the associates who made the effort to report the incident while it was happening. However, I can't help but wonder if they might face consequences for their decision to involve law enforcement, given that employees are typically advised to refrain from intervening in suspicious activities. This policy seems to stem from the company’s fear of lawsuits associated with criminal incidents. It’s concerning that many might feel the company prioritizes its legal concerns over the safety and well-being of its employees. https://wyff4.com/article/armed-robbery-4-arrested-upstate-belk-easley/68819933

@js oh it’s true, associates last name was Warren and was employed with Belk at the time of this incident. Where his friends were also involved.
Is that true or is it a shill trying to take the focus off the real problem.
And guess what? An employee was involved in the robbery at the Easley store.

Our store was just hit this week at women’s fragrances. They went behind the counter and grabbed gift sets (2 trash bags and a backpack). Only one person on sales floor at the time, with a long time of customers to check out. Over $4,000 worth of gift sets. Another store was hit the same day.
@OP was only a matter of time. It’s been a huge safety issue for a while and it’s worse now with even fewer associates working and no AP. Criminals know Belk is a soft target. With holidays approaching and the shape of the economy it’s downright scary coming to work in the dark and leaving in the dark.
We should not be afraid to be at our job, it’s retail …..
