I keep hearing that 1000-1200 associates are going to receive the ISP. This would be a substantially higher number than what have been discussed related to Reimagined. Is anyone else hearing similar rumblings?

@gd All good guesses, but there are ABSOLUTELY more than 700 “roles” defined at the firm. And PP and her gaggle of lawyers fine tuned that announcement and they ABSOLUTELY chose the word “roles” not “headcount” and not “people” and not “associates” ON PURPOSE! We will NEVER hear the true number. They will keep that quiet. It’s gonna be WAY more than 700 folks ISP’ed when it’s all said and done.
It's less than 1,000, more than 150 is the only thing certain for displacement. The vast majority of us might get new leaders within the new org chart, but will largely still be doing a version of our current position.
No one knows the true 700 Roles vs. 700 Headcount number for ISP, and what version of the word, "Roles", they meant when they said "700 Roles". I have to believe they meant headcount, because we don't even have that many job titles/roles.
Realistically imagine what reducing ~150-200 leaders would do to reduce their spans and layers. We know about 100 leaders accepted the VSP and that some of those that did will need backfilled. Now... what will they do with their remaining ~100 of leader reduction they'd like to see? Some of those leaders will get moved to backfill those vacant roles, others will move lateral to individual contributor roles, others will get moved to a lower grade position (they won't call it demoted, but it is), and some will get ISP'ed.
Where does 100 Leaders via VSP + 50-100 Leaders via ISP + 450 Associates via VSP... get them? We can guess Associates displaced via ISP is maybe 100-250?
Obviously, this still isn't great, but maybe it helps reduce some anxiety for my EJ friends that we're talking maybe 150-350 people without a job via ISP?
not even close to 1200, not remotely close way less
@aj gotta make partnerships available for David’s buddies.
@b9 Ted remembers.
@a9 They will still claim transparency during the planned townhalls that look like a bad episode of Oprah or dr Phil. During said townhall, nothing that resembles normal english will be spoken and everyone will leave more p!ssed and confused.
@b8 true. Only 100 something leaders supposedly accepted if I remember correctly. If this was about spans and layers of leadership and only 100 something took it then you can bet a lot of leaders will be out of a job. Likely yours truly.
Anyone remember when David Chewbacca told everyone we were lucky to have jobs as Citi and Bank of America were cutting staff. As he sat in his ivory tower office in NYC.
He then processed to hire all his friends and to pay for it by pushing ELT to reimagine all the layoffs and reductions. #TedRemembers
@am the positions vacated by rule of 70 offers may absolutely need to be backfilled by younger cheaper associates. And that was the majority of VSP takers. Leaders were more heavily offered but most chose to role the dice and I’m guessing they will be the majority of who is given the ISP.
@OP yep, confirmed.
@aj I can assure you that DC is already licking his weasel-y lips thinking about what else he can chop to be more "efficient" with AI, etc.. Let's hope it's only 700 this time, but know that self-serving parasites like him will push to get leaner and leaner at everyone else's expense.
This is unlikely in 2026. I would predict 250-400 associates, many of them leaders will receive ISP. If you go to the jobs posting page, very few positions are being posted internally. Majority of VSPs (550+) will not be backfilled otherwise it would completely defeat the purpose (not cost effective). I would be surprised if there are more than 50 VSP roles that will be reposted.
@aa 552 accepted in addition to 50 GPs forced out. However, those were not necessarily the right positions to be vacated, and they all have the potential of needing to be replaced. Which means, to end up with a net attrition of 700 (which was an early touted figure), they could theoretically still need to eliminate the whole 700. Realistically I’d say 500 are likely still to be eliminated. IF that 700 is actually accurate which I don’t think anyone believes it is!
I wouldn’t at all be surprised by the 1200 suggested in another thread once all is said and done.
I heard the original target for VSP was between 750 and 950. 522 accepted. ISP could be between 228 and 428.
Absolutely 0 surprise if this is true. I wonder if they will give us an actual breakdown of what they cut or if they'll forget that bit of "transparency"
Wouldn't surprise me one bit. I believe nothing they say anymore
If that turns out to be true, that's an additional 500-700 on top of the 552 of us that took the VSP. That in my opinion is a VERY BIG DEAL considering that's not the picture they've been painting.
Is this number seperate from the 700 or so who took the VSP? I thought I heard the overall goal was 900ish total between VSPs and ISPs.
Wouldn’t surprise me if you are correct OP.
