Will NM stop outsourcing and hire out test engineers back

There's a proposal for 25% tax on US firms' payments to foreign outsourcing companies.

@OP
There is proposal but don’t think so that will stand. Also, look for an opportunity in different areas, test engineering job is no longer secured. Don’t rely on government to take decision, upgrade yourself.

@30j I'm sorry to hear this man , if its any
consolation, know that the majority of the Infosys contractors that replaced you are less than worthless, they create far more work than they accomplish. I also know several extremely talented contractors who were let go in favor of these low end clowns

American contractor here - lost my job at NM to Infosys who replaced my entire local staffing agency. I started as contract to hire but never got hired just fired because of RTO and outsourcing policies. My NM manager was one of the best I've ever had, we got good work done together and covered each others weaknesses and strengths, life was good for years. I hope the new $100,000.00 H1B visa and this other rule come to be and stick around. Maybe if im lucky I could be hired back and make a career instead of endless contracts. But its probably just a dream of better days.

It's completely absurd how many ultra low end foreigners we have here, most of them are useless, nobody in their countries are our customers and it is a massive security risk. We should prioritize hiring from the places we have customers

There needs to be a tax. No one should just come here, make $100k per year, then run back home. When I worked there I was making $80k per year. My offshore counterparts were making 10% of what I made through Wipro.

But, they come here, su-k up funds for a so-so job, then go back to wherever and live like kings.

Yes, tax them, impose fees, something to tell these corporations that they need to hire Americans first. I see way too many people, especially in tech, that can't find work because of the visa scam.

One can only hope. The number of people they would need would fall dramatically by getting rid of all the overhead associated with the low skilled contractors.
