Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Next week 4 days

Is next week just for people going from 3 to 4 days? Or is it affecting people who were remote and not remote anymore

Also what happens if we don't do the 4 days

@2mk This was not the only one either.

Ohio had one of theirs like that, but, people kept it open anyway. I think corporate just gave up on it and let it stay open.

@2g0 Heh, Provo office requires a badge swipe to get into the area with the restrooms, and another to return to your work area. So, close enough.

Our manager reminded us that next week, 4 days are mandatory, then 5 in September. Sadly, they care more about attendance and where the work is done than the actual work.

Oddly enough, every time there's a drop in the stock price, it coincides with a forced RTO policy

@nw management forgot too, they are rapped up in other BS. Nothing is ever completed here, so expect a reminder when someone wakes up and there will be no follow though other that asking managers to rank their employees. Then for the bottom 25% they’ll check the badge reports to add to the employee’s PIP.

I totally forgot about this. They didn't even send out a reminder or anything. Maybe I missed it.

Everything here is smoke and mirrors. The most successful employees are the ones that can fake working the best AND tell management what they want to hear. Words speak louder than actions here.

@by it'll be safe for the year.

Speculation says April, but anyone not obliging the full RTO come sept can be on a follow-up list. Same with people already marked for 1s at performance review

@b6 this is what I'm banking on. Once the big layoff happens I figure it'll be safe-- so far as that word applies here-- to go back to calling the bluff

Looks like you didn’t pay attention on CEO’s email.

@b0 managers are supposed to have a sheet that tracks scans. If that's manual dump that's disappointing as he-l.

But perfectly in line with OT standards

They will enforce this for the list of employees they want to layoff. Either due to high pay and/or performance. Nothing is ever executed fully here. Mark set up a culture where there is no follow through and executives have the attention span of a gnat.

@ay theres a lag on badge scan data. I'm guessing it's a manual dump and upload, which is why they send an email whenever it's actually updated.

Yall...

4 days in office starts next week fot anyone already tied to an office; virtual people who are within the 30/50 distance have different schedules based on their office's side (allegedly). While they may not immediately be 4 days the expectations are there to start being there. If you were only given the form and no schedule, you likely should assume 4 days immediately. If you're given no support that's an immediate red flag.

Discipline can be anything from manager talks to termination. They gave themselves full power. Technically HR can see someone not doing that as soon as Wednesday if there were no other badge scans that week. May take a couple weeks to begin disciplinary action, or if they're actually efficient, week 0.
