Offer Progress

Does anyone have visibility of how far along is the offer process. It's the second week of Jan, are we at the point where all first round offers out and we are dealing with second choice and separation? Anyone getting communication this week?

@2hr They should receive communication by end of the week. Two days to go.

Is there anyone still waiting for communication?
How about folks who said no/ rejected the offer, do you guys get a second communication?

@20s I don’t think you have to wait that long if an offer is declined. Since offers are limited, there eventually end up being fewer offers than candidates, which actually increases the chances that people will accept in the second round compared to the first.

@20s that's only if you are in redeployment pool, otherwise do you think it will be that long.

@1w7
when you say no to an offer, it can be as late as june before you know your fate.

Has anyone here said no to the offer? Did you hear back from the company of different offer, or separation?

@1ek doubtful there is any true hard data but multiple people throughout organization in and out of Canada I have spoken to claim anywhere from 50-70% decline rate.

One more week to go. So does everyone kinda hear from the company by now?
Do we have mostly yeses so there's little churn for second candidates, or the opposite?

@1em You have got to be f’n kidding me! This has been absolutely unbearable already. Their treatment of employees has been inhumane. Waiting an extra week over and above what was originally communicated as the absolute worst case in unforgivable.

@19y Some business units have been delayed for 1 week. I would say wait by end of 1st week of February.

Anyone have actual hard data on % of those that declined offers?

@19m Everyone is supposed to know by the end of January. Communications are being made on Mondays and Wednesdays. So 5 of the 8 possible communication dates have passed. I also know that the positions in my area of expertise have already been offered. And I am retirement eligible. I know what the outcome is for me. I just want a timeline so I can start planning the rest of my life.

Here we are, Week 3 of this process, and I still haven’t heard a thing b-m virtually certain what the answer is. I just want confirmation that is true and an estimated date.

Roll out is slow because HR is swamped preparing job offers for everyone who said “YES”, even though it’s the same role with zero salary changes for the next 2 years. They want people to sign on the dotted line so they can pretend that people actually agreed to this $h*tty nonsense 🤮

@vr If you don’t sign the new contract where the position/title changes, your original employment contract is still valid.

@vr

What contract?

Can they really claim that if you don’t sign the letter that the Company views this as your resignation and hence no severance? They are changing the terms of the contract (location, job etc). This seems highly immoral.

@vj my post edit- meant rejection rate not denial

Hearing from credible sources that the denial rate is anywhere from 50-75%, obviously no way to really verify or quantify but would make sense given this slow roll out.

@hy Then 3rd round of offers can be expected.

@fn That’s pretty sh$tty. I haven’t heard anything yet either. But I know a role I was being considered for was offered to someone else.

Lots of declines cuz the roles being offered are same or demotions, and no more $, even for those accepting roles 18 months out

Have heard that offer rejection rate is at 20%. Expect delays in offer communications.

Downstream offers started Jan 5. People have been declining. Do not have exact number of declines.

It depends on where you are in the company. For Upstream, they only were able to start first with offers Jan 7 for under CL28 due to delays with HR approvals. Even some of the first round offers weren’t extended until Friday and some maybe only even came in today, so they won’t even fully know how everyone responded to the first round until end of this week. Then they need time to regroup. So second round offers for most people probably aren’t coming until next week earliest.

Other parts of the company were more on schedule though so probably might start to see second round offers start to come in later this week.
