Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

The axe has been sharpened!

Expect onshore, both FTE and Consultant, reductions now through June. Many TCS resources will be exchanged for MGCC employees. FTEs will be reduced through team consolidations. You will start to see movement soon.

@2c2 I know someone last year let go on fmla for a family tragedy. She was already on a pip but still…….. anything to save a dime. They even told her they ran it past legal first and they are good with it lol.

@29b could explain an HR chick on leave, chose yesterday to post on LI at nauseum, about how wonderful and generous MetLife is. Job preservation during a family tragedy is certainly a priority. Who else gets these perks?

How about the Procurement folks in India? A bunch of new people there (everyone's a "manager") who make up extra steps a long the way, have no clue what they're looking at, and unnecessarily delay approving new engagements, renewals and invoice payments. Vendors if you're reading: THIS is why your invoices are aging 150+ days ...

@es playing firing/laying off experienced skilled on shore people to save a buck by hiring unskilled foreign low cost employees or cheap fresh out of college kids they pay nothing too. With the amount of legacy and complex systems they have the replacements really aren’t trained or knowledgeable enough for success. The c suite is just running it into the ground to boost their bonuses then they’ll jump ship.

Really bad leadership from offshore, now onshore and all throughout the co, has failed to drive productivity and lead advancements. …along with ki-ling morale. They couldn’t lead a horse to water.

Honestly, as a profitable business unit that was forced to rely on these people for "automation, but not really" projects, it's time for change. Maybe if they didn't su-k at their jobs, circumstances could have been different. Garbage in, garbage out. ✌🏻
