Thoughts on Employees left to deal with aftermath

Will remaining employees get any financial incentive to pick up all of these work from the employees leaving with VSP? Our area has been hit very hard, we were already understaffed and overworked. Now what? Are remaining employees feeling optimistic? Or will remaining employees begin to leave for greener pastures?

it would be nice to know the 80 folks that were denied. May need it in the not so distant future.

@1mt sorry you were denied - I know of someone who didn’t take it and 40 years and can’t believe they said they can’t right now! With what the company has become I’d worry you’d have job later regardless of how bad you know they need you. Learned to trust no one. Making the decision to apply was a big deal and once you made that so sad to be denied - again my deepest sorry for you hang in there and count down those days

@55z that was so wrong - why not offer that person the VSP with caveat to leave later - that person is one of the best and even though never given the respect they deserve. The accounts they handle no one else could handle all those at same time as successfully as it is done. I pray hard that we win that BID and that person isn’t disrespected but my gut says otherwise. I took VSP and said to leave as I love my job but I can’t say I am proud of what CF is at the moment and hope it can be turned around but it is BAD!!!

Of the many in Sales, only one was denied. A Sales Rep in a critical role. Sure hope we win the bid to renew the group or they’ll probably let him go after declining his VSP.

Funny how there are down votes on many of these posts. Must be ELT. In the words of Jack Nicholson: “You can’t handle the truth” hence your down votes. LOL with the down voting, ELT!

Interesting - do you know the breakdown of commercial vs. FEPOC?

@1mt

You must definitely be in a critical role. I hadn't heard of any denials before this.

Well it seems that one of executive leadership’s main concerns is whether your folks have gotten their time sheet filled out in a timely manner. This place is sinking and that is right up there at the top - tom reporting. Crazy how that little typo got in there. Hate when that happens.

@166 Shows how horribly misinformed he is. The $hit is going to hit the fan all over that company. Glad I'm jumping ship too.

@15y "The Knowledge is with the company, not the employee!" Direct quote from the one who's abandoning the sinking ship!

@se If CF is planning to get new Managed Services Partners, good luck. It takes time to do knowledge transfer. Even if a new resource is added to existing Managed Services, it still takes a good 6 months or more for a resource to get up to speed. Many in IT no longer have the system history due to retirements and now with all those taking the SVP package, that system background knowledge is gone. State and Federal mandates and open enrollments must be met or face stiff penalties and fines. I don't envy those staying as you cannot hire for a position due to SVP. Those staying will need to backfill for those leaving as well as continuing support for their existing systems.

Any new projects should take into consideration the lack of assistance that will be available.

I am not sure who in IT leadership made the decisions but does not look good. Folks are checked out. They better hurry up and get that Managed Services Provider going. Time lines are going to slip to say the least. There are some folks on the first wave that probably should have been held until the MSP could be engaged.

You will keep being overwhelmed until other shoe falls. Merger where new company is top dog. They will insert their people and many that are left behind at CF will be shown the door. It’s been mentioned multiple times on this site and it’s going to happen.
