Is it true that they will lay
off less than 30 people? Is this the total number or the number for each legal entity? End of May is when people will need to leave or when they'll be notified?

@158 An imaginative answer, on par with what one might expect from someone like you
@152 you should improve so many things …be prepared for the next round …
@12t It’s funny how your mind allows you to keep writing nonsense with such complacency. The statement says nothing more than 'usually' but that doesn’t mean 'must'. You should improve your reading comprehension
No news that they can share
@123 get your meds, there was a note from the WoC in Spain today
Council email today - no news for now.
@g7 You can’t confuse those of us who are worried about ERE like that. The only thing that the law mentions regarding the 90 days is that if the company during those days fires 'drop by drop' a number of 30 employees or 10% of the workforce MUST COMPULSORILY DECLARE an ERE. You won't find any reference to the time between EREs. The only thing is that company can't use the same reason for ERE, if one ERE is due to reorg, the second can't be for reorg or it wil be considered illegal.
Airline agent (regarding passenger Sally Ann Cavenaugh): "She just connected from Provo."
Fletch: "Provo Spain?"
Airline agent: "Utah".
No one got word from someone in the Works Council?
@OP By the moment there no news in Spain
@g6 Hello hello hello! We take you yob in da 'Spen! Hello hello hello!
@g5 you don’t seem to know more about labor law in Spain my friend , if they fire more than 30 people during 90 days after the last exits ( 28 th Feb) all those layoffs could be declared ilegal …
@g2 better starting with people like you
@cr They can fire whenever they want. The 90 days that you mention is not true.
Start with those in the Madrid office.
If the requirement coming from HQ to EMEA is to fire a lot of people asap, then in Spain they will have to go for another ERE yes or yes. Spain still has many employees, and two HUBs. If they fire 30 people now, they will need to wait 90 days to fire another 30, and maybe that is not what is expected from HQ (also, in case that happens, I would suggest to those 30 people to sue the company...they could end up with a judge cancelling the dismissal as per RD 5/2000)
@ba too late is even now , even if the WoC shares an update you wont know if you are on the list until 2/3 months later , you can be sure more layoffs will impact Spain as it did for the rest of the countries …
You can start looking for something better and if you are lucky to find it leave with no severance or wait for them to terminate you sooner or later ..
Once the WoC provides an update, it's already too late. This post is to try to get info in advance.
PS: Please, do create separate posts for countries other than Spain.
@av why do you use this post for other countries ? Open one !
Any update for Romania and Poland?
@OP this is all rumours shared in this forum ….nobody knows what will happen in Spain and when since the WoC has not communicated anything yet ..
In my opinion, 29 people in total ( for entity does not work if all entities belong to the same umbrella company) is way less compared to the numbers in the rest of EU , UK or US so I think a new ERE is about to be cooked and we should know in the next 1-2 months …this is just guessing based in off the record conversations …
