Please, somebody, tell me I'm wrong.

@23s can thou outsource more hate obese uneducated fools?
@209, so what is the program and who is driving it?
@1wg Not me that's triggered. I don't even work for this firm, but I know a lot about it and the program that is underway. This is going to be a busy forum for the next 12 months. Buckle up - long way to go!
@1x6 I think the person’s comment on liking someone getting trolled was a flippant sarcastic segue as opposed to them actually enjoying it… I hope so.
Anyway, I totally agree with the comments being made on organizational change and manipulative and deceitful managers. I think a lot of it stems from a lack of accountability, integrity and work ethic. At the end of the day there has been little to no repercussions for managers who don’t display these characteristics from what I’ve seen.
@1wn I agree with you - there is a different vibe that comes from the very top and runs down, and it is unpleasant to say the least. My boss and his boss still seem the same, but there is a feeling like with the exception of our immediate team, we are not part of a overall working community anymore. Everything is fractured and the feeling we likely have no future here is an unnecessary distraction. However, I don't find managers trolling people worried about losing their jobs particularly funny. It is kind of sick really, given some people may be forced into some stressful situations and decisions. While I was surprised someone "in charge" is that much of a dou--e to come here and post that, it is not shocking coming from management that seem "manipulative, deceitful, self centred and downright evil".
As much as I’ve enjoyed reading some IT staff upset at jobs being offshored being trolled, the issue which was glided past is that T. Rowe Price has significantly changed in terms of its management. What I’ve experienced is that management now have more manipulative, deceitful, self centred and downright evil people than before. I am not talking in the context of IT offshoring.
The actions of local and divisional management are supported by senior leadership. Hence, either senior leadership are blind to the horrors or really just don’t care. Both are sad to see.
@1vy Someone is a little paranoid and triggered today.
Season 2 will be after companies like this normalize sending all jobs to India and your kids are told Americans need not apply when they are ready to work. Enjoy that popcorn.
@1vv Keep it coming. I delight in your ignorance and you throwing around assumptions and judgments, without a clue as to who I am / am not or what I have or have not done. Will there be a season 2? Thrill us with your acumen.
@1vr Yep Mr. Bubble - exactly what we would expect from someone with no morals who doesn't care about anyone but themselves. You could have saved us these words, as we were already clear on who you were based on how you treat other people. We'd rather stand on the good side. When one of your cheap workers fks something up or needs to solve a problem for which there is no carefully written instructions, that is when you will find out. Until then...cheers!
@1v0 Love reading this from the management 'bubble'. It is very amusing to read the observations of small-minded folks who think they know how it all works, or how it should work. You have no idea. Keep on posting and I'll keep fetching more popcorn.
@1v9 Yep - The firm: "We are environmentally friendly, are certified by woke climate groups, have solar panels on our buildings, have biodegradable flatware in the break areas, etc. "
Also the Firm: "We support sending jobs to a country with the worst standards in environmental protection and nonexistent fair labor laws to save a buck."
Talk about a place that lost their way. They went from saving the planet to saving a buck. Companies that do this, and there are many, need to wonder who will be buying their cr-p once middle class Americans are all unemployed? Maybe T Rowe needs to sell 401ks in India now - as less Americans can afford to have one. Jeez, save money by using cheap plastic flatware and stop pretending to care about the planet and people.
@1v0 spot on! People who take American jobs to send jobs to a country that is a member of BRICS, a literal Russian economic ally, deserve no respect!
@1tp You nailed it. Managers shouldn't be reading here so they can stay in their bubble that they are so wonderful and think of tossing people to the unemployment line in a cr-p job market clinically as "cutting costs". It is one thing if jobs are going away, but these jobs are not going away. People who worked here for decades and did excellent work are being thanked by asking to train inferior workers in other countries to do their jobs, when no one ever trained them. It is a disgusting lack of humanity and morality. When I see these "scolding posts" and down votes, I consider the source - someone who could care less about other people who likely is safe in their job.
@1b7 what is out of line is how this company has treated its employees. You sound like one of those people who are part of the problem, one of those that have dealt mistreatment to others. Perhaps take a good hard look at yourself and your actions.
@14y anything for a phot op
@1af Descriptions on here getting way too personal now. Some folks are out of line with what is being said.
@1af let me guess… country where the previous country head was also an id--t and a bully? Country where they seem to put id--ts and bullies in leadership positions across the business? Yeah pretty sure we know who that is, those of us who have been around for awhile.
@1af Could you give this person's initials? :-) The COO department is now offering resume writing AND Linkedin Networking classes. They are trying to spin it as a way to help you thrive at the firm, but they want our azzes out like yesterday's crab shells. I wonder if the Linkedin class will teach me to appear so enlightened as the oth
@16x speaking about a cycle over time and LinkedIn, I’ve see differently. I work in a country OUS where the country head has been at TRP for a long time (good and bad) and is an absolute id--t. He’s active on LinkedIn and tries to appear connected and intelligent but is far from it. And he looks like a constipated geriatric (check out the LinkedIn photos)!
“Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.” We had some really good times that ushered in weak leaders.
@12n if the LinkedIn “influencers” with 1k+ followers spent more time working and generating revenue for the company instead of generating subtle vanity posts on LinkedIn, maybe things would be different and the company wouldn’t be laying off?
@14y agreed. The hypocrisy and manipulation is what makes T. Rowe Price stand out from the crowd. Pretending to be upright moral people but really just a wicked organisation.
@14g Yes I get emails from Linkedin when someone from T Rowe posts something, and I think why would I want to read that? It is all bulls***. "Hey look at us doling out soup downtown" while they kick long time good employees to the curb for foreigners. They are probably doling out soup to former T Rowe workers left homeless by their greed and now using the same for PR.
@12n hashtag funny! Totally can’t bare any more self serving LinkedIn posts or over the top displays meant to show what a good person they are but has the opposite effect because it’s soooo fake.
@11n APAC?
@105 It’s super cringe tbh. I remember when the firm cared more about your role, output and your integrity. People didn't feel the need to put VP or whatever. Now you got so many people put VP and (god forbid) VP Group, that it’s become indicative of the massive culture change.
The firm’s gone from hard workers and down to earth, to superficial and status driven. OMG let me post on LinkedIn and say what an amazing job we’re doing for society and how I so much love the company. I’ll do it in between my post on how I spent one hour working at a charity and the post on how I support the disadvantaged by devoting 10s of my time writing some vague post of support on a cause I don’t actually care about. #successful #charity #equality #grateful #throwupinmymouth
@129 Meant to say “are assigned”.
Many AVP and VP designations are signed automatically based on your grade level.
@10c lol. I saw one dude who put AVP and made it look out like he is an investment analyst. He does back office data work.
@10c at the big banks, analysts & associates are junior level employees while VPs are more mid-career. I assume analysts at TRP don’t want recruiter to mistake them as entry level job applicants. But TRP’s culture is better than the big banks anyway, right? We shouldn’t conform to them. We’re not cut throat like they are and our management treat us with respect….. right? lol
@105 I always found this very odd. Same with the people who put AVP with no description of what their role is. I don’t really care unless I can put it on a business card like that scene in American Psycho. Help with my Patrick Bateman larp.
@105 I remember at the end of the year there would be a list of people obtaining "VP" status at T Rowe. A few in my management chain have achieved this. But they do regular jobs they are not up working with the President. I think it was some kind of honor at the firm. That was back when they appreciated their best most dedicated workers. Now they get tossed to the curb for "Raj" at Accenture.
@vg on that subject, why is everyone a ‘VP’ on their LinkedIn? This always confused me and seems to take away from everyone’s experience as a whole. Is it truly just self proclaimed? Assuming most folks are sharpening their resumes for other opportunities, are we allowed to put VP next to our title?
@pt put together graphs and commentary + answer client questions. The company being slow with AI adoption + RMs being lazy and knowing very little about strategies keeps them in a job.
@mj masquerading is so true. One of the junior PAs even calls herself a Portfolio Specialists on LinkedIn. Can’t trust people in that team.
@rt I never really understood why some (definitely not all) the sales people were investments-wise technically illiterate. Surely the Portfolio Specialists team would like to do more value add work then doing stuff sales people should and could do.
In the good times, I guess there’s so much headcount to go around.
@pt create charts, run macro on spreadsheet, write commentary, answer technical (read all) questions distribution is too d-mb or lazy to answer. Yeah, got AI written all over it. They’ll likely have a few more months more than kit/RFP/data work though.
@ps sorry compadre. If the company actually gets serious about cost savings and innovation, for sure I can see even teams close to the client get the cut. So yeah, reporting, kits, DDQ/RFP/database work can all be hit hard by layoffs.
Most of the PAs in PSG won’t be needed as well. PSs will just use an AI PA. Who knows, an AI PS might be a reality in a few years as well. AI models and actors are already reality.
@mj what do the PAs in PSG actually do?
@n0 no way. Kits and reporting and rfp are too close to the client. Right?
