Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

Accenture

Isn't the Accenture contract cancellation date fast approaching? Does anyone know how many current Accenture contractors will be brought on by the new vendor and how many will be let go?
Someone I know who is still there tells me they have been setting up access for new the new vendor like crazy.

I had no idea the level of toxicity that I had welcomed into my life until I was forced to move on.

Potential Benefits of a Pay Cut

Improved Quality of Life/Work-Life Balance: A significant benefit can be a less stressful role, fewer working hours, increased paid time off, remote work options, or a shorter commute. The value of time and reduced stress can outweigh a higher salary, especially when balancing personal priorities like family or health.

Strategic Career Shift: A short-term pay cut can be a long-term investment. It can provide an entry point into a desired industry (e.g., from corporate to non-profit), a management track role, or an opportunity to gain new, in-demand skills that were not available in a previous role.

Better Alignment with Values: Working for a company whose mission and values align with your own can lead to significantly higher job satisfaction and engagement, even with less pay.

Enhanced Benefits Package: Sometimes, a lower-paying job may offer superior health benefits, a stronger retirement match, or better bonuses that can significantly improve your overall financial picture and offset the salary difference.

Increased Job Security: If your current company is unstable, a move to a more secure organization (even with a pay cut) can be a wise defensive play for a later-stage professional.

@1vp - Spoken like a true L3 mid-level manager.

@1vp well, um as a self professed double naught lawyer, I would point to the fact that we are former L3 employees that came here to share our experiences about being laid off. That would seem to be in line with why you frequent this site. The difference is, you should be working for L3 right now and not posting here, while the rest of us go on doing whatever we do that is of no concern to you. Sound about right?

"Those of us who come to this site, come here to share experiences with L3 Harris and the rolling layoffs."

@1d9 I would take it. I have zero plans on finding a role within Accenture. They did not hire me and I have never applied there. I appreciate the opportunity, but outside of the managed service, I am a horrible fit for you and more importantly, me.

@151 This is true. Accenture has been actively pruning their workforce. Later stage professionals and those with high levels are scrutinized. Sure there are people that found roles, but they have accepted the consultant lifestyle, it isn't for everyone.

I am surprised Accenture doesn't offer a package to the people remaining. It seems cruel to make them sit around with fake hope and wait if they have already opted out. Pay them what they will pay them after 1-15 and let them walk away with a little dignity, it is the holiday season after all.

@14x heres a hint to get a higher salary - lie and cheat. Its how I beat them and easiest way to get a quick raise.

@14x It is almost impossible to get restaffed at accenture, we make too much. I have surrendered, going down with the ship on 1-15. I am going to wait it out and use that week of severance that accenture is honoring our service with to get me through until I find something.

This whole situation is sh-t! I find it interesting that L3H expects some to move over to Infosys to continue to support a company that threw us out like garbage. They say we are critical but won’t bring us back to L3H. Infosys is a complete joke. Their offers are at a much lower salary. They act like it’s a privilege for us to work for them. They ask right up front if you are US citizen and what are you currently making. They don’t let you know that the offer will be substantially lower or that you won’t be working supporting L3H and have to travel or move. They force and rush to get you through the interview process. Tell us up front if the salary can not be met and stop wasting our time! For goodness sake have people who can be understood and speak English!!

I know some have been forced to accept the ridiculous offer from Infosys because they can’t be without pay for their families. It’s not all that easy to find another role within Accenture either. I think it’s very arrogant for L3H to think that we would continue to support them after the horrible way they have treated all of us.
I hope L3H fails miserably! Get rid of that bi--h Kim M!

Yes, I am very bitter and so are many others!

I have no idea what those people are doing. I submitted mine Sep 30 when they presented it to us and never heard a thing. I gave them 2+ months to contact me and they did not. It was interesting 2 months ago, now I just feel like I am getting played. Time has expired on my interest.

I am just a dummy, hence my situation in the land of misfit toys, but I have ideas...

Infosys is waiting until they have defined all of the resources within scope before proceeding. It allows them to groom the budget before investing in the labor pool.

Leadership is operating with skewed information from project unite type people that want in on the future platform implementation and ownership. I have never encountered "professionals" at this level that operate with such egoism.

Best of luck to those that have an opportunity to stay in whatever capacity it is. Old L3, thank you for being a challenging environment that provided a helluva lot of opportunity to stretch my brain. I will miss what you were, I waited half a decade for you, but you are never coming back.

People that do not know what they are doing shine like the sun in my world, have a bright day.

@ab The skill is gone or has plans to leave. The individuals that found jobs on their own (not with a former manager) or found something with Accenture, those are the folks they should have retained, not culled.

Probably don't need many people anymore if a large part of the company is sold off. Many parts have increasingly been operating like that.

Most of my team is leaving to go outside or are taking the new offer just to cover while they keep looking. I left as soon as an opportunity came up

@vc The people they wanted to bring over have already been brought over. That was supposed to have completed in mid-November. Maybe Infosys/HCL will bring in new, low-cost people after Dec. 15.

The process is as you say. The new MSPs are extremely disorganized. My colleagues who actually wanted to go with them have had to email them constantly because they are very slow to reach out. You’d think they’d want the experienced people to stay. Maybe they don’t because they cost more than the new people that they’ll throw in.

@s3 Have they hired anyone yet? Maybe they will start after the 15th. I have talked to one person that got an offer and they said they were still waiting to hear from them again. Their feedback was that it is low pay, a very disorganized process and they seem overwhelmed. For those sticking around this should be fun one to watch fall apart.

@s3 people with no other option. It will be a miserable, low trust, commodity work environment, Polymarket says 100% chance. I bet L3 has a metric that McKinsey provided them that is closer to the exact number and they are taking the over. Simply characters in a game.

From what I’ve been hearing, I estimate 15% will stick around with the new MSP. That’s less than 100 people. If people were given an offer, they were low-balled by a significant amount. Who would stick around for that?!

12-15 is the last day. I have no idea, nobody I know communicates. I was multi decade employee with a whole lot of non common experience, volunteered for every su----e mission and the energy to get it done, they did not contact me and I applied Sep 30. They are going to have some major gaps, a couple that are not fillable by a single person. These people are scrub IT seat fillers. They are not glue employees that have dealt with monotony 25 years and adapted to it. Believe it or not, there are some folks on the Accn side that are unbelievably good but L3 doesnt care. They identified their core people and brought them back. That will be the first question I ask. If I can do my job at infosys, why was it so critical that they were rehired by L3 to perform their old duties.

I am not taking a 40% pay cut to do a job that I was being fairly paid for. I can easily shift gears and find an analyst position locally that will be in the low 6 figure range, with a whole lot toxicity and manipulation. Is it risk and stressful, yep, but that is how you create energy and opportunity - or sit around and take what they give you.

My future was stolen from me, you made a big mistake, happy trails.
