How would you fix Intel?

Since we all rant quite a bit here on layoffs.com let's be a bit constructive - outline your fix in this thread.

Please feel free to add to this: -Stay clam and focused and don't be paranoid -Create your resume and start looking for job's ASAP and before 12000 other folks start applying. The longer you wait the more difficult due to # of unemployed applying... — read more

50,000+ laid off by late 2018

This is just getting started people. Intel makes nothing that the market needs. Intel is arrogant and believes that hordes of PHD level individuals will be happy doing sh-- work that can be done by individuals with AA or high school degrees. Intel is... — read more

Optimistic and perspective view

I actually like the post below about "motivation if we got passed up for the job, don’t be discouraged – we could get a promotion elsewhere, bigger and better with a big signing bonus. As they say, someone trash is someone else treasure. I believe... — read more

holy crap, this Stacy guy looks no better than Krazy Krazzy.

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/intel-ceo-were-cutting-jobs-143852938.html I feel sorry for the 100,000 employees that need a competent skipper. This guy has no idea what he's talking about. A not so good buzzword emitter.

Intel Diversity

As Intel implemented Diversity it was just an extension of the age old Affirmative Action stop hiring white employees - you would be told "they are not a diversity candidate" even if they were the best candidate who interviewed give non-white... — read more

Stock is up nicely

INTC Stock is happy with the 12K employees losing their jobs. Make Intel great again. This is what its all about. Capitalism. The more heads they chop the better stock market will do. Since this is the case expect more layoffs. It makes the stock... — read more

Thread for tracking SSG layoffs

With Renee gone and the MCM taken over by TMG folks (who are known to have been hostile to SSG), SSG folks are especially vulnerable. Please use this thread to track layoffs/VSPs/ISPs across SSG. Please include your campus, division, impact and any... — read more

"Enhanced retirement" vs. VSP

I wonder if there'll be any difference package-wise between the "Enhanced retirement" vs. VSP if someone should be eligible for both. If differences, I wonder if they'll give us the better of the 2 or offer the worst.

Feels like 2006 all over again

NSG

I'm in NSG. I think I'm fairly safe.

Intel please just buy MediaTek already. Why are we waiting?

We'd instantly be #2 in mobile and have a great baseline from which to grow. Why are we wasting billions for 1% share? Fire 12k people in the USA, buy MediaTek (7k employees in Taiwan), and we're good for at least a decade or more.

Is this our Kodak moment?

After 19 years I made a decision to leave, starting my job search right now. I know there is a ton of very upset people at Intel, but I really liked my work, my team, and yes, my boss. Yet, it's time to retool and go, it'll take a while, I may get... — read more
