Too many layers of management

There is hardly anyone here who thinks that Intel really needs all those VPs, but will this company ever get rid of unnecessary layers of management or at least some of the useless VPs...?

The Chips Act is about TMG

The rest should get spun off as different companies with their IPOs. TMG will become the immortal Federal Bureau of Integrated circuits. The PC group will be comparable to AMD Total combined market value will be 3X of today's, at least.

Dear Pat

This is a question that is baffling me a bit since our last all hands. I see that you believe in Gods path and call getting Intel back on track a "mission". In that context, why did you not take a 75% cut in salary ? Or even 100% ? Missionaries... — read more

Layoffs in tech will get worse

Buckle up, because layoffs are about to get much worse all over the place, and I doubt Intel will not be a part of that. Layoffs in tech will get worse, but overall more spectacle than significant for the... — read more

Every time, I think about Q1'23 all hands

Every time, I think about this, it sounds so insane to me that this company is at a spot that they have to cut the base pay and 401k for their employees. Irrespective of the ups and downs so far in the company over many decades, I always felt... — read more

In short, unknown number of employees were laid off,

unknown number of employees got a pay cut, unknown number of shareholders got a nice bump in stock price, unknown number of employees jumped ship, unknown number of employees are secretly very happy that they still have a job. What else there is to... — read more

I think next layoff will be massive!

Frankly, we cannot sustan to hand out dividends, lose sales, drop profits, etc. Something's got to give... There will be massive layoffs, 5000 to 8000 in my estimate. PG will be asked to leave, he'll gently land (golden parachute) in the paradise!

a top leader said, if you separate because of a pay cut, not believing our strategy or vision. In response, I would like to say a. you do not know families budget and see how already because of high inflation they are struggling b. In the past they... — read more

Don't want to care anymore

This has become a company where, in my opinion, the employees are more concerned about its future than the leadership. The employees are the ones who are most worried about whether Intel's days are numbered, whether it is too late to somehow save... — read more

Perpetual Transformation! Argh!$#$!

Leadership's response to any problem over the past several years is that we are on a "transformation" or a "journey"...and solutions are always 3 to 5 years away! No accountability for the Technology folks who blew the leadership position, and still... — read more

This is not the worst thing in the world

Intel cutting base pay seems like a disaster... on the other hand, imagine the staff getting a pay cut on the Titanic the day before hitting the iceberg... It really wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world... as compared to sinking to the... — read more

Lame excuses

What economic headwinds is INTC facing which is not there for AMD, NVDA, AAPL. Is it just a lame excuse quarter after quarter by ELT for poor execution and planning ?

Do you have to write your own OKRs

I have to do this and I wonder if defining your own OKRs makes any sense. Isn't setting expected results what your manager should do? Is this common practise at Intel?

Intel is the problem

I hope that the last couple of months have finally convinced everybody that there is truly no future at Intel. At least not until we get some proper leadership, and it might be too late even for that. Before somebody says it's the economy or some... — read more

When is R*ja getting ousted?

Seriously, we have achieved nothing with him. We should send him back to AMD so he can f*ck them over instead.

G is the OG

Gelsinger cut his own base salary from $1.2 million to $900k. He made about $179 million in 2021.

QPB received, anyone?

I got about $40-60 for my most recent QPB. I realize this is an optional bonus, and is not to be expected…. But I feel like I’m getting slapped in the face with such a disgraceful bonus.

Meritocracy never really existed at Intel. If it did Intel wouldn’t be in this state today. Chr—sty just formally shut down meritocracy aka favoritism charade.

What's fair about this?

What's fair about this? Our executives fire the pool guy for one of their many estates, and the folks who actually do the work can no longer pay the rent on their only apartment. Good luck with that brilliant decision.
