Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Work from office may solve performance issues

I think INTC would be in a better space if it completely abolishes hybrid and remote work model. Too many freeloaders

There was a noticeable shift in higher productively when engineers started working remotely. There is data to back that up.

OP is on point. I am sick of being in meetings hearing slackers load their dishwasher or the jingle of their dog's collars as they take them along for a 'walking' meeting.

Doesn't seem like continual covid infection is a great choice for a lot of folks.

No need to go back to work in office if it’s not necessary.

At the same time the ones who come in everyday should get a raise or something for coming in.

There should be pay raises for workers who are grade 6 and below since they do all the work.

I’ve seen a bunch of older people on site and all they do is walk the halls literally the whole day.

Agree with OP. Having worked in all models , working at office or a hybrid model results in better productivity than working remotely. Other companies have observed this and are leaving the full remote model , which is no longer needed given COVID is pretty much behind us and was clearly overblown. PG needs to get on board like Other CEOs , quit worrying about upsetting millennials and end the remote work option if he wants to get the Intel ship turned around. I'm surprised he hasn't done so yet . Maybe he is getting had advice from HR or the CPO.

Hmm, so you suggest going back to pre-covid environment where people were focusing on office social engineering rather than real engineering... the age when products were actually getting worse (remember 10th vs 11th) and intel was behind in every meaningful metric... The only thing that has worked at intel was the Hybrid /remote model. If you have a dinosaur mentality and want to work for your mentally ill hero Elon go ahead... oh wait how is the post covid era working out for Twitter and Tesla???

All the talented workers would leave. Great idea! (Sarcasm) Plenty of folks that take 5hrs of breaks on the floor! Slacking fab rats...

What issues do you think you might solve with your solution? Or are you just throwing darts while blindfolded?

100% agree. Pat should send a memo like Elon did.

return to work…or pretend to work somewhere else

Funny, my last two GL's have said we are doing at least as well, if not better than being in the office. Sounds like sour grapes on the part of the OP to me .

OP, And you base this on what data? Oh, you have to go in and your unhappy, because others don't have to. Here's a suggestion, go back to school and up-skill if you want this. A GED probably won't get you there...
