Not NC. 3rd time being accused - not sure if I should be offended or elated 🤔

Didn't think I was going all McKinsey on you, but arrest erosion is not consultant speak. If you want basic words, then how about "we want to do something good to cause people who are currently paying us to want to keep paying us". Arrest or stop erosion is just faster to say.

And #TDCGotSnowballed? Are you 11 years old? Do you think that it is clever the 16th time you say it? No way you are actually Teradata. If you are, let see you use that creative genius to whip up some alternate ideas and a legit conversation versus that weak a-s trope hashtag.

I have been told before that this is a site for Teradata people to voice their frustrations in a safe and anonymous way. Voice away. But if you really are Teradata then, for the love of Mike, get off your a-s and help the rest of us try to save this great company. This site can be the place to vent - but it can also be the place where you highlight what YOU are doing to change the shitshow that we call home....even if it goes against whatever elt is pushing. Just fu----g do something.

This “strategy” would work if you had no competition. Your “modern” product was 7 years late. And it’s not even viable for enterprise scale and functionality. All you can do is try to hang on to your existing customers by lifting and shifting revenue to cloud. Treading water at best. Cloud-native beats cloud-first every time for new customers. #TDCGotSnowballed

Snowflake Passing TDC in Revenue

It is happening - Snowflake on track to generate about $2 billion in revenue this fiscal year. TDC will not be close to $2B. Teradata “management” watched it happen for six years before scrambling with a “CloudFirst” strategy. And the board was MIA. SM can’t spin this. #TDCGotSnowballed

Snowflake Officially Passes TDC in Revenue - #TDCGotSnowBalled

It happened. 83% revenue growth compared to TDC barely treading water. Snowflake will hit over $2B annual recurring revenue going forward. Overtook TDC in In the exact same market that Teradata once had a leadership position in. Anyone in TDC leadership and the entire Board should be ashamed and giving back their bonuses. Why would they get any bonus? Teradata will make a good case study in business schools, like Kodak, Barnes and Noble, and K-Mart. When you have to say you are #CloudFirst it means you still don't get it. RIF THE ELT

#TDCGotSnowBalled

Game Over - Market Cap, SNOW $53B - TDC $3.8B, Revenue, SNOW Doubling Yearly, TDC Shrinking, New Customers, SNOW winning hundreds, TDC <10 yearly, NPS, SNOW 72, TDC 2. It will be a slow, painful death the next 36 months, but the TDC ELT will drain the bank with their excessive bonuses and comp.

Snowflake built an easy to use, scalable cloud database that customers love right in front of Teradata's eyes. Teradata's CTO was asleep at the wheel and dismissed it as a toy. The CEOs and Board were clueless. Teradata never took cloud serious. Now they are paying the price. What does the market think about SNOW and TDC? SNOW - $50B Market Cap, TDC - $4B Market Cap. End of story. #TDCGotSnowBalled

Almost too many d-mb comments to address. First, Slootman could care less about Teradata. You only "advertise" at a competitor's conference when they are kicking your a$$ and even then it shows weakness. M.e. did the same thing against SF a few years ago and look where that got him and TDC. LOL! TDC should focus on fixing their product. And to say it is less expensive than SF is a JOKE. Maybe for some high concurrency enterprise app but 95% of the time SF is far cheaper. Modern companies don't build monolithic EDWs anymore. SF had 10,000 attend their conference. Their Net Promoter Score is 72. They are actually growing revenue. People want to work there. #TDCGotSnowballed

"Teradata is 7X Less Expensive Than Snowflake"

Just saw a Teradata promotion that said how much cheaper they are than Snowflake? This is proof how desperate things are at TDC. First, why promote your competitor unless they are taking all your customers. Second, why promote how cheap you are? What about value? The new CMO JW is no smarter than M.e. who called all the glaring issues like legacy reputation, old technology, high expense, and competitors taking customers "myths" when all those things are clear facts. #TDCGotSnowBalled

Alarming Number of Teradata Customers Leaving

The attrition is accelerating. The vast majority of Teradata customers who have not already defected, have active plans to phase off. Some of these have been Teradata's best customers. Apple, eBay, PayPal, WalMart, Albertsons, Safeway, Bank of America, Royal Bank of Canada, Warner Brothers, SC Johnson, Gap, AT&T, Kaiser, General Motors, Dell, IKEA...the list is much longer. With these all leaving or cutting their spend until they can phase off, and no new customers coming onboard - this is a death spiral. No wonder the CEO dances around any real data on customer acquisition or customer churn. If these customer defections and the true attrition numbers get out, this show will be over fast. #TDCGotSnowBalled
