Yes, latest conspiracy theory is a booster is needed as the Bezos microchip can only run 6 months. Amazon can’t supply your productivity and location data to Chevron without the booster. #ImagineIT

Chevron's Most Expensive Platform Collapsed
A new article recently leaked that Chevron's most expensive platform had a major incident this week resulting in it collapsing and being thus rendered a junk asset waiting to be written down. The "IT Foundational Platform" as it was referred to, was the mostly costly MCP sanctioned by ITC (like dat UWT trash, D2D, & all other worthless ITC efforts). This terrible accident claimed the lives of 2 scrum masters & injured 3 agile coach contractors. There goes this year's CIP....sh*t! Thankfully, no employee software engineers were hurt when the incident took place, primarily because none existed at Chevron. A root cause analysis was ordered by the CIO, and the report findings indicated that the root cause was the stupidity of the #ImagineIT team's brilliant decision to downsize employee technical staff headcount who were encouraged to leave with a sweet payout last year coupled with the digital transformation of ITC into to the new Business Unit called "Managed Service Provider" MSPBU. The new contractors assigned to the IT Foundational Platform were so incompetent that even the contractors working at the help desk complain about how useless they are. I was told by a senior "technical-technical-technical" platform manager, IT plans to spend 25% less per contractor, but let them take 4 times longer to get the same work done. Seems like they are using the same lean sigma cost cutting strategies used on Gorgon and Wheatstone.
Ok, so inline with the earlier post about #ImagineIT. If you look at BU IT numbers before versus the direct BU support going forward those group employee numbers are reduced more than 50%.
#ImagineIT - US Preliminary Numbers
Numbers are not final until offers go out and are either accepted or declined. Roughly speaking, my mole tells me the LT expect to see about 40-45% across the board. Including EOI's, not including Noble reduction numbers.
@mdqa, let me tell you how triple crown is related to layoffs. There are many absolutely meaningless projects being kept alive by people who now bundle them into triple crown. Triple crown, like many other shiny initiatives - whether it’s DIA or decision making or leading performance or even cute hashtag names like #ImagineIT - all start off as maybe a decent idea. But Chevron being Chevron, it gets fatter and fatter. People equate those as job security. They start to add in projects that have been around for years but have never gotten any support from business units. But now they’re “part of” triple crown or [replace with any important sounding thing here], they’re seen as important and roles will be in the next selection rounds because “it’s triple crown”. Executives in place who do not have any historical context of these things that they’re adding are supporting them very blindly. When you try to revive legacy UWT sh!t and call it triple crown, these business units didn’t use them back then and they won’t use them now. All we are doing is throwing money away at consultants (who also don’t have historical context) because we don’t have anybody who can build this the first time. Same song, different version. Lots of jobs will be saved by having these initiatives...
Okay, i just heard the same thing from my manager today who is in the #ImagineIT workshops among the IT PLT. Wow, this is going to s—, they already know the percentages per IT group roughly, but are not going to share until right before each round and say then say they just finished, but they know more or less where the targets will be by chapter. Messed up, bunch of cowards.
ImagineIT will be slashing close to 40% of Employees
Just heard from my supervisor that #ImagineIT will be slashing closer to 40% of us Blue Badges in ITC and across the function, despite indication it would be between 20-30% range, clearly management is not being transparent and is avoiding the topic of telling us how big of a warhammer is going to come down on us.
How is it we pay Lady Geagea's lazy A$$ $13+MM/yr to give us attitude with his angry F-face staring at us on those transformation calls referring to us as "Commodity IT", give me a break. After all the digital talk of IT being critical to Chevron's success, we learn that the DIA was just a way to give another white female a meaningless GM job where she promotes wasting $100MM in IT Spend across the enterprise on big dollar consultants, and let her convince other young women she has added value. She's a joke. Appreciate the ELT wasting money on tokenism and then cutting us employees as a parting gift.
well this is a gem that I found from the past. After #imagineIT proudly said they will have a goal of building a powerhouse organization of software engineers so we can run a better IT shop. You still have your high PSG 25/26/27s managing technical people even though they aren't technical. You still have the majority of your software engineering services leadership in San Ramon and all the key people calling the shots in San Ramon for IT, especially for ImagineIT. Have we ever stopped to think that we will never be able to build a "powerhouse" software engineering organization when great (and even just good) software engineers who live in the Bay Area are not working for Chevron. On the other hand, there are good software engineers who live all over the country (even Houston) for personal reasons and can work remotely to deliver more than the losers in San Ramon, when they can't get a job elsewhere in a tech company in the Bay.
ImagineIT is led by someone who's already announced retirement when there's so much time left until the new org is announcement. The rest of the team are also filled with truly unimpressive people with boring imaginations. They even got the #ImagineIF #RememberWhen guy on the team to help them #imagineIT. They are so far removed from reality. The good news is that the people announcements from upstream that have come out so far looks like it's just going to be status quo anyway. So this group of people probably won't change up IT that much. Same song, different verse.
6jdn- are you serious? you think the #ImagineIT team will fire all the US ITC folks when everyone on that team is US ITC? Makes sense.
This person is clearly using a proxy and is jumping around to various ip addresses to vote multiple times. What a dork. I hope #ImagineIT and the reorg consultants imagines an ITC run in offshore India and fires all the US ITC folks that dont add value.
