It's interesting that this "most ethical company" and "most ethical CEO" have been ordered to pay nearly $1 million in RESTITUTION to consumers in a single state. So #Aflac kept $1million that didn't rightly belong to them - basically sounds like theft. Shame on the mighty duck.
But the statement in the last paragraph really sums it up: "All of the fines, however, are miniscule when compared to the revenues that Aflac racks up each year. In 2017, it reported a profit of $4.4 billion on total revenues of $21.7 billion. "
The fines are MINUSCULE when compared to the revenue and profits generated by their theft. It's only .025% of their profits from 1 year - yes 25/1000 of 1%....literally pennies. Crime pays...and it pays big bucks. The regulators aren't doing their jobs to deter this bad behavior with these insignificant penalties.
Consumer beware.
