ABB Celebrities Buying GE IS With NYSE Closing Bell.

Amazing to see a part of GE older than the creation of the company itself being celebrated by its new owner (ABB) after being disregarded and underinvested in for years by GE leadership who placed their bets on the latest fashion or who needed an... — read more

The layoffs are definitely imminent

The layoffs are definitely imminent. The rumor is that production (those who voucher their time to a job) will be hit heavily. Indirect (inventory control, inspection, etc.) will be hit as well but not as heavily. Because we know the layoffs to be... — read more

Capital Region headcount

What's the current individual/cumulative GE Schenectady/Nisky headcount? Based on my latest info: @GRC down from 2,000 (2016) to 1,200 (early 2018, now likely less) @Renewables : 200? @Power : 4,000?

This is going to be so cool

Layoffs coming Friday 301 layoffs for Schenectady NY. I can not wait for my slip. This place is a joke like a T Rates pay scale.

GE 6 month bosses.

Another stupid thing GE does it rotates these interns that never had any management skills and never built a locomtive and when they start to learn they are moved on.They used to take workers from the floor and offer them bosses jobs.

Material Weakness at GE

So let's recap: 1) Under performing GE starts to unload business units in a series of spin offs and partnerships, loading them up with corporate expenses, debt, and pension liabilities. 2) GE continues to insist that its corporate audit staff must... — read more

GE vs Berkshire Hathaway What's the difference???

Both had interests in a number of industries however the comparison stops there. Financial manipulation, overconfident management (including thinking management and its finance weenies) could properly manage and move from industry to industry... — read more

Lack of Value Continued....

The lack of value from these posts are like the lack of value in my Cadillac of healthcare from GE. The lack of value is like the lack of value in my 401k plan from GE. The lack of value is like the 2 tier pay scale they off. The lack of value is... — read more

Lack of Value on these posts.

Somewhat disheartening that some post mindless dribble, instead of sharing compelling and pertinent information on this site. If IQ points could be awarded for some of these comments they would be in the double digits for sure.

The Interest Payments

Healthcare is going to get used just like the other businesses. This is not an escape but a transition into debt bondage since $18 Billion of debt or more will get added to Healthcare. The interest payments on $18B of debt will be mind numbing. Big... — read more

Breaking up is hard to do......or is it?

After Ge Healthcare goes in 12-18 months, next will likely be Power. Then, Aviation after that. Each takes a little of GE Capital with them along with debt and pension obligation and you call it a day.

Is the Union done?

With the Supreme court overturning the 1977 decision to force people to join the union, I wonder if this is it for the union at GE. If I was low on the list I wouldn't be paying any dues, I will tell them to stick there dues up there arse.

Six SIgma

Six Sigma was just the means to an end. It helped manufacturing and supply chain get more visibility and standard tools/processes/mgt support to improve. Like anything centralized, Welch/GE could not apply it to some and not to others - requires too... — read more

After the 7HA0_ program, what else will engineering have to design? How goes the aftermarket business? (or did GE outsource this?)
