They are eagerly waiting for a large number of people to leave
That would save money on severance pay and I still think that is the main focus now: to create enormous pressure and make as many people as possible leave voluntarily. Many will certainly do it, but there are many of us who would not want to miss... — read more

Are more layoffs coming? It's hard to feel comfortable in my role and keep my mind on work because I keep thinking that more layoffs are inevitable. How much slower can it get? And then in February I'm sure we'll hear all about our record profits... — read more

Find work somewhere where your dedication is appreciated
Even if I survive these cuts, my priority will be to get out of here. The lack of job security is the primary source of stress for me and working hard to increase your chances of survival is almost meaningless when it comes to cuts here.
Very demoralizing
I think I looked more shell shocked than some people who were affected. The reason is that these people who were cut were some of the best employees. Is it possible that this company no longer needs talented and capable people? All in all, very... — read more
Will there be more?

Auto refinance dept got cut

I'm nervous about layoffs
All the major banks have had significant layoffs in the last several months. I'm thinking we might be the next on the list. And no, for those who want to claim we're a technology company, we're still a bank first and foremost. And banks are currently... — read more

Is this company different than others?
As a potential employee reading through these posts one has to wonder if this site just attracts the disgruntled. Could a big company like Capital One really be so dysfunctional? Are the surveys all wrong that this company is one of the best places... — read more
