How realistic is this rumor guys? I know that people have been talking about it for a while but wanted to see what you think about this.

Employees who were fortunate enough to keep their jobs here at BP have been told that there will be no raises this year. Not complaining, just saying.

In my group, 25% of the staff in Houston has been let go. Some were obvious targets (deadbeats, new hires) but some of our most experienced and knowledgeable folks have also been let go (likely more expensive to keep)

Do we have any updates here? It looks like we were not hit as hard as some of our competitors, which is a good thing. On the other hand, things may get much worse as 2015 progresses. I wanted to see if anyone has more info on what will happen to our... — read more

Just announced, we are cutting North Sea 200 staff jobs plus 100 contracting jobs - cutting only onshore roles, not in offshore operational positions

We have a lot of overhead in BP. Net earnings per employee are much lower than our peers. Management should be laying off 20,000 folks but they have no backbone. Hence we linger on with our sick bureaucracy.

Maybe this will give BP a chance to unload some the redundant management within the PSCM areas. It may have become too costly to continue to dress up these clowns in a tight market.
