I should’ve left when they closed my office and forced us to Dallas 3x/week but offered severance at the time.
Layoff
This a Layoff Site. It is not a RTO site. RTO is standard in most Fortune 500 companies and in Federal Offices.
Hypocrisy of a “Mighty” “leadership” team
It’s been sleeting for a few hours here in the Mid Atlantic/Northeast and will continue. “Mighty” “leadership” cancelled all their travels for the day, but expect all their workers to travel and be on time. This all while it continues to come down... — read more
Fork in the road email coming after RTO...
Elon has shown the way to Corpos , that the easiest way to shed undesirables is with a carrot of leave and get some money .. or wait and get some unemployment. I think T and other corporations looking to shed, will run the math on severance + early... — read more
Big Announcement on 2/7?
Rumors on the internets abound regarding AT&T big announcements on Friday. Is it a layoff? Is it Starlink compatibility? Is it Stankey retirement? People here must know. Spill the T tea!
Think about this …
… AT&T is selling services to consumers and businesses at a premium price with an iron clad guarantee (sarcasm) that are not good enough for employees to use to do their jobs. So to lay it out there another way … T: Mr/Mrs Customer you need these... — read more
FTW letter (follow the work) - for everyone or virtual only?
Has anyone received it this week or recently was told that it’s coming this Friday? Is everyone that is not in the hub affected? For those who’ve received the letter, can you share the content? I mean was it as simple as your new workplace is xxxxx... — read more
Salary band position
What is your level, salary band, and current salary? Either real numbers or percentage? For example, if your salary band is 1-100/yr and you are at 70/yr, you'd be at 70%.
Any knowledge of when the layoffs are coming? And if so, what are the chances for severance packages?
Our org's SVP was nice enough to let us know, during his EOY meeting, that there will be fewer of us still working at T in 2025 than there were in 2024. So the surpluses are coming. Just curious what the likelihood of a severance package would be... — read more
"Retired" Last Sept / Question on Team Award
Forced to retire after 28 years as a second line management employee. Am I receiving a team award on March 6th? Or is that thrown out since I had to "retire"? Thanks
I hate RTO and so does everyone else, and we’ll never shut up about it until it changes
Title says it all.
John Stankey to leave by year end replaced by
TPG Private Equity Fund Telecom Guy. The barbarians are at the gates. 90% of current jobs will either be gone or offshored to India.
Is there anything brewing on the occupational side
in terms of layoffs or VTP offers in March? Is T going to follow the lead of the federal government and other companies offering their employees a chance to leave on their own terms with a sizable check in-hand? I would love to see this cuz there... — read more
Between Conscience and Command: Navigating the Return-to-Office Mandate
I never imagined that my role as a director at AT&T would place me at the crossroads of personal conviction and corporate obligation, but here I am, caught in a maelstrom of conflicting loyalties, expectations, and my own sense of justice. Every... — read more
Confessions of an L2
Too smart for climbing the ATT ladder or just didn't fit the mold of those corporate shamux. Did my job in about 15-25 hours per week for years. Had outside work going as well. ATT was steady paycheck and benes for the family. Saved and spent much... — read more
Fiber vs broadband?
Texas is amazing thanks to Republican Senator Ted Cruz and Trump. Republicans are clearly doing a lot for our fiber strategy by giving more money to T's competitors. Municipal broadband networks and fiber networks in general could get less funding... — read more
RTO - Flexibilty w/ Telecommuting
Leaders say there is flexibility in the RTO mandate -but nothing has been defined. What would be considered “flexible” to allow to telecommute for a day? Such as - home repair, small child home because school is closed, doctor appointment and doesn’t... — read more

Confessions of an AVP

Tell me one thing….
Our CEO is nothing more than Al “Chainsaw” Dunlap, cutting how way to “success”. Asking CEO defenders tell me one thing he’s done that led the market or was cutting edge?
It's not getting any better
I thought that as time went by, I'd get used to going to the office again. I was wrong. Instead of getting easier as the weeks pass, it's getting worse and worse. I'm growing more and more frustrated and angry, especially knowing there's no good... — read more

Craft comment on RTO.
There is a section of the call center i work in that is reserved for RTO. Every time I pass management is having a great time talking amongst each other. Yeah I can see the argument of how productivity plummeted.
RTO Letter - Anyone know what the terms are?
I have not seen it discussed it discussed but does anyone know what the letter says? What is the time frame if we are unable to comply with 5 days/wk. Is there severance offered?
New floors are open
Floors 34 and 35 are done and completed at 208 S Akard. They are open access but have a few teams moving up there. Plenty of huddle rooms, personal cubes and enclosed cubicles for phone calls.
Studies show that over 70% of US employers STILL operate on a “hybrid” mode
… as most employees prefer a hybrid work arrangement, citing the benefits of flexibility and work-life balance.

NP&E - Choy letters going out
I’m hearing all of Cheryl Choy’s NP&E teams, outside of Dallas, are getting letters this week mandating their job is in Dallas, and they must move by EOY 2025 to keep their job. Anyone else hearing this?
What if I come back as craft (CWA)? Does that do anything for benefits?
Hi - I left with 25 years of service, and want to hear from our craft friends if CWA's benefits are worth coming back to T for. I could do 3-4 years as craft and call it a career. Curious how badly the Stink is ruining the Union benefits.
For groups still being allowed to 3xRTO . . . the L3 must now report 5x.
I hope they enjoy the couch and floor at work.
