Is Stankey that bad?

No layoffs so far except for terrible people at the top. Maybe he was just pretending to be d-mb with the mergers so Rand could pass him the torch. Could we get him to go on undercover boss to suffer with the techs under toxic management?

Hybrid retail store??

Looking at some retail location going Hybrid does anyone know the meaning? Store on hybrid seams to be kicked out other corporate group stores on ranker.

Orange Contract Rumor

Rumor is the union countered a company offer and is asking for 7% raise for this year, 5% next year, then 2% for year 3 and year 4 for RSC title. That is ridiculous! Inflation is 8.5% and we need at least that every year! We need to strike!

T has a bad track record with financials.

Looking as far back as 1984, T has had a really bad track record managing money. It started with the new pediment building in NYC. They didn't ever move in after they built it. Building was sold to Sony, who occupies the building today. Next up was... — read more

Stankey cleaning house.

It would appear that Stankey is finally cleaning house. No wonder he's been so quiet of late.

The real value of a promotion

I tried very naively to get the promotion by being patient and putting in extra effort. I never got promoted. Even if I was to get one in the future, I’m starting to doubt that promotion here would be the best next step for me right now. Perhaps... — read more

Too many employees and not enough work in California. Splicers and Central Office employees are bored since there is so little work. HR has sent out Voluntary Separation Benefit forms and over 200 have been submitted but no offers yet in 2022. ... — read more

Dark clouds overhead

Been with T for 30 years, never seen it so bad. It seems like the company is on autopilot. Morale is as bad as I've ever seen. With all the wasted cash and other resources over the failed acquisions, Tmob, DTV, and WM, I sometimes wonder how the... — read more

Return to Office

Legg is about to send out new rules that will require everyone to be back in the office 3 days per week. It will say everyone has to be in the office on Monday and Tuesday plus one other flexible day every week.

Spin off Fiber? I don't believe it

I've seen some comments on this site recently about coming plans to spin off fiber. I don't believe it. Several years ago when RS was "wireless everything" in a town hall a few weeks later Stankey had a town hall and said something to the effect... — read more

COR MANAGEMENT

Must be really bad in the COR retail stores! All you see online is openings for asst managers and manager!!

AVP here - ask me anything

Yes I got here by working the right people and sucking up. I get paid a lot of $$ to do pretty much nothing. I play favorites when it’s time to layoff a certain percent of the team, ability only counts for so much. I hate my VP but I grin and bear... — read more

Elon mandated RTO

Don't know if this will have any impact at T. All Tesla employees must spend a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office. Their office must be their normal reporting location, not a remote location. I hate this, I never want to RTO! Ever!

AT&T A Terrible Turmoil

For a company the size of AT&T it is absolutely stunning how poorly it's managed. Stunning. It is clearly reflected in the lackluster value of it's stock. I was a 17 year employee. Had a reputation as a manager for doubling or tripling sales results... — read more

Will Legg or McElfresh succeed Stankey? Right now I believe it's a toss up. Both are walking a tightwire trying not to sc--w up. Time will tell who wins this race.

Town Hall numbers

Missed it but heard some numbers saying that we are down to 7% copper utilization connections and a lot of those are internal. Is this correct?

Why are you still going to town halls?

Some probably still hope that they will get answers to the questions that interest them. As for me, it was always amusing to just observe how skilled they are in avoiding giving any answers.

Macelfresh town hall = waste of time

Anyone learn anything new from the town hall? It was a real waste of time, not sure who actually plans these town halls, just alot of fluff. I would like to ask why T has such horrible customer service and why nothing is being done to correct the... — read more

Customer dissatisfaction

AT&T still needs to reduce operating expenses

and will probably begin headcount rationalization once again in the 3rd quarter. The goal here is to reduce unnecessary overhead and redundancy in the operation. It's an easy fix!

Looming recession

I'm a little worried about the potential recession ahead of us. How will it affect the cuts at T?
