The plan is to work every one till they physically can't and then there will be consequences. I can not believe no time-off requests. U are under martial law@Verizon, call HR. But all jokes aside, the last, best contract offer will have the Union... — read more

Question for legacy VZB techs...
What do you think about this strike? It seems the sticking points do not relate to your job functions directly. You don't have the no layoff clause and headcount has already been gutted since being pulled in(not voting in), 7.5% is not great but is... — read more
My thanks to the EWA employees and their efforts
As a non-union craft person I have worked my normal shift since the strike began; every day I have worked with the EWA personnel in the field, at the frame, dispatch, MCO and fielded phone calls from centers asking for help. Every EWA I have worked... — read more

....what's next?
Looks like recent discussion is around the email from Mudge. I've been digesting this today and reconciling life until 6/30 and what is about to transpire. Perhaps this a ploy to force those out in the field to cross. The bargaining agreement was... — read more
Hands up, who likes go90?

Oh no! The replacements are coming. THE REPLACEMENTS ARE COMING!!!!!!
I keep reading about all these replacement workers that are going to heroicly swoop in and take our jobs from us. So if I got this right, these new hires are going to be able to come out and maintain this plant with no experience, no knowledge of the... — read more

Verizon Strikers to Get Paid http://fortune.com/2016/05/03/verizon-strikers-to-get-paid-from-400-million-union-fund/?xid=yahoo_fortune
Union members are worried about proposals to outsource call center jobs to Mexico and the Philippines, increase the use of non-union contractor installers, and allow employee transfers to other cities for up to two months at a time. “Wages and... — read more

About May 20th rumour
Based on the last best final offer from Verizon, the company stipulated that "We have offered to withdraw the proposal for Temporary Assignment in Another State altogether if we reach a ratified agreement by May 20, 2016"
We all know Bob Mudge's internal email was a blanketed lock out statement, that should give CWA plenty of ammo to collect Unemployment benefits
Hiring 39,000 contractors to replace CWA workers, huh? Yeah, getting unemployment will be a piece of cake.
Job openings available.
Relocation required to southern U.S. Wall building skills a plus.
If it was so easy to get rid of the unions, which some people keep insisting will happen, we would have been gone years ago.
Best part is that in NY, it is a closed shop. Lol. We will be here as long as wireline is. Hopefully they sell sooner than later. Keep hoping you shills from inside. You can't stop us!
I guess the union shills...
...croaking about the 2nd quarter numbers and BOD not letting the strike affect the bottom line were full of sh!t as usual. The Mudge email put those pitiful, grasping hopes to bed. In other news, Christina Shelton just filled his adult diaper.
Verizon business is declining, Union gaining support.
If this continues to happen there won be a business to sell.
What is the law in NY for collecting unemployment while on strike?
This is going to last awhile.
Just keep the faith people!
We just have to hang in there until January 16th 2017 when Bernie is sworn into office.
If you are miserable right now contact your local CWA and thank them.
The Union has managed to screw up the lives of almost the entire Verizon Wireline company. The EWA and CWA people are all SOL. The CWA are for all practical purposes unemployed. The EWA are living a life of complete hell until they can get back to... — read more
