11:00 call tomorrow for managers with leadership... anyone heard anything? "no delegates"... you know what that means.
Anyone given ESP dates?
Apr 14 was supposed to be one of the dates for Infosys rebadged/refused people to leave. Did anyone get notice? I see that they seem to move with more urgency these days but havent heard of a date yet
Can 5G really bring that much revenue to keep the good numbers?
If you look at the market you will see that most customers are perfectly satisfied with 4G and that they neither deen or want greater speeds and the possibilities that come with 5G. Of course, eventually everyone will convert, but how long will that... — read more
The four tier Union.
Explain the four tier of Union members if you can: Those Union folks hired prior to 2003, with job security and all protections. Those Union folks hired after 2003, with no job security and all other protections. Those Union folks hired after 2011... — read more
Where have all the EISP rumors gone?
Rumors were flying around and now complete silence. What’s going on???
Dispatch outsourcing
Rumor is since they can’t read a map or a trouble ticket or give all tickets in 1 exchange to 1 guy, the job can be done by anyone anywhere.
3/22 and 4/1 - change energizes us :)
For those leaving 3/22 - good luck My prayers for the employees staying. 4/1 - I really hope a Work LIfe balance is achieved in the near future- I just do not see the light at the end of the tunnel.
How does attrition look on your team?
Who else is noticing more people - those who were not offered a buyout - leaving on their own in the last several months? I guess they're smart, taking control of their own destiny. I wish I was that brave - or that I had an alternative - I'd be out... — read more
5G Chicago
Announcing today 5G for Chicago and one other state live on April 11th!!!!
Are call centers as we know them dead?
No doubt that call centers were always the first to be exposed to cut, not to mention outsourcing, but have we really reached the point in which technology provides the possibility of doing customer support without the need for existence of organized... — read more
Voluntary retirement package in VDSI
Is there any talks for voluntary retirement package in VDSI? If yes, what is the criteria?
VZW Network Layoffs / Reorganization
When are we going full turn key? Any ideas when the reorganization and layoffs will hit the vzw network teams? What teams will be impacted the most? How and what are they centralizing? Will we even have markets anymore? Rumor has it that all... — read more
Looks like Verizon's 5G "savior" won't really launch for quite a while.
And by then Hans will be long gone, probably destroying another company. The International Telecommunication Union hasn't even published 5G yet. It "hopes" to publish them in 2020... — read more
Outsourcing, contractors and only the irreplaceable workers as full timers.
That seems to be the Verizon leadership philosophy regarding the structure of the company in the near future. Think we need to get ready for that situation and make a decision whether to go or to stay and deal with that state of affairs.
RSU amount
Anyone know what the stock price was on January 31. I think we get the deposit next week just wondering how much before tax
Higher wage as contractor
I’ve been offered a higher wage to come back as a contractor. It will cover my benefit costs when I have to start paying (after the 60 weeks). That coupled with a 40 hour work week is just fine with me. This sounds way, way, way too good to be true... — read more

Call centers
Is it safe to assume that all call centers are going to be outsourced at some point?
I say again.. we are getting our a** handed to us in Q1
I say again.. we are getting our a** handed to us in Q1!! Our stock is going to tank after Q1 results come out! Watch and see https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.barrons.com/amp/articles/verizon-stock-sale-ceo-lowell-mcadam-51551901698
Another informative leadership forum kick off call.
Move along, nothing to see here. Nothing new.
What’s the deal with people being asked to come back as contractors?
Shouldn’t that be illegal, especially if we’re talking about former long timers who generated good earnings throughout the years. Isn’t that just the same as telling someone he can work for the company, but with lower wages and no benefits, just... — read more
Run away from VDSI
Run away from VDSI. Life there will become hell soon. Year after year they come with some horrific ideas to better the work model. Next year they will realise and try to correct it with the next idea. This goes on. This year is pooling model. Most of... — read more
Is the final goal to outsource all that’s possible?
Looks to me that way. Headcount reduction is still looks like the priority of the VZ leadership. Just wondering what departments are next to go to third party companies, after IT?
Future is infosys deal
They are planning to expand beyond IT to meet deal obligations. More changes coming in April
How many more do they want to lay off before they are satisfied with the headcount?
Public announcements are one thing, reality is another, think we all learned that. Even with the buyout, reorgs and layoffs the leadership still doesn't look satisfied. I don’t think that layoffs will ever stop being a threat, but how much more folks... — read more

Verizon retail elects to postpone new attire launch
Someone is finally listening ! Power in numbers, I guess enough of the retail team complained about the new attire that changes are being implemented. Bravo!
Have the reorgs ever really stopped?

5g scares the hell out of me
I've reached the point where I'd actually be relieved if the worst thing about 5g is that it's going to be used to spy on everyone and then in rare instances used as a weapon against people trying to overthrow the regime . What scares me is that 5g... — read more

Any layoffs in April in Verizon India?
I'm hearing some layoffs as part of 2.0 in Verizon India is it true?
Now that we know 5G isn’t what it was hyped to be....
...where does the company go from there? The company admitted we wouldn’t see anything worth noting about 5G for another 5-8 years. We have aging copper that needs to be updated. TV is a dying business. Wireless has plateaued. Verizon Media/Oath, not... — read more
To take or not to take, that is the question!
I have 28 1/2 years with VZ and I'm 50, take a buyout with an extra kicker or make 500K over the next 4 years? I've had enough with VZ but I can handle it till the end of contract. I think most people feel the same.
12/28 VSP
For those that left in 12/28, how bad did you get taxed on your severance check. Was it the 22%?
Why return as contractor?
