TI will be laying off the entire testing COE in 4 batches beginning today. Today there were 10 associates from Testing COE told to go. This is a fact and i would like to advice my friends who are there, please go out on your own. Fast Fun Friendly

Around 200 people in India got laid-off.

I think higher the pay higher the potentiality of lay off. Is all about blindly cost cutting.

the layoff is not performance based it is more of Department based, many good performers are going out, many people with not much potential and performance are still continue.

PMCoE, TCoE (manual, mainframe), Merchandising, DotCom teams impacted till lunch time. I heard some more will be there post lunch.

I am very sorry to those who lost their jobs today. Many were my colleagues and friends. I want to wish you well and let you know, in my experience, there is life after corporate employment.

No responses from TI folks, as they dont have a first-hand account...still taking in the rumors...while everyone agrees it is today, but no one seems to know a guy who got the meeting invite...

200 to 250 layoffs at TI today and tomorrow... confirmed. Wait till 10:30 am IST

Several DTOs were cut today too.

Not sure of the exact number but our area lost a couple dozen.

Severance pkgs were 1 week for every year at Target, discounted insurance thru end of year, paid until 03/08/14. Finance, Marketing, TTS affected. Distribution Services (mail rooms) all gone and replaced with contractors today at 3PM, and some are... — read more

It sounds right now like the layoffs were very concentrated between Tech and PM- hopefully no more....
