Can we say for a fact that the rumor was true and that the layoffs are, in fact, coming in May? Is there a narrower timeframe on when they might occur? Any info on the numbers, locations?

potential layoffs in May? Yes and June, july, August etc... see the pattern. There will be layoffs till the company is nothing and ML can sell off what is left. #ISeeDXC
There is a confirmed WFR in the UK at least. VR window closed a week or so back, and there will be a 'Formal Announcement' as to whether this will proceed to CR on the 7th of May.
VR leavers out of the door 13th May, CR will follow in short order I would imagine.

Technical people don't bring in business. that's up to the sales team to sale our offerings and give delivery enough time and resources to install them. DXC loses there shirts time and time again because sales promises the customer everything instead of within the offering
There were RIFs last week in North America, I know of 8 confirmed in my group (of ~100). Employees were told on Thursday that Friday was their last day at DXC. Severance was based on years of service, the ones I know of were people with 20+ years who ended up with only 8 weeks "pay in lieu of service." Mostly they were solid, experienced employees, none that were truly performance related. Nothing formal has been communicated by management, only that remaining team needs to pick up extra work. again.

There is a rumor that Bangalore/Chennai/Gurgaon/Noida is likely "end of May"
Likely to chop 5% of employees which is the target. So for 20 employees, at least 1 will be sent out to meet the target of May.
