Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How did an id--t become CEO of Oracle?

I really don't get how a sub par cash register salesman rose to the ranks he did. He spent 25 year peddling cash registers (NCR) and when the place was falling apart he took the helm as president and fired everyone. He was the captain of a sinking ship, a perfect place for an id--t. in 2005 AT&T stepped in to reclaim the company but it was in such bad shape they quickly reversed the merger. That should have been the end. He was a big rat that climbed to the mast of a sinking ship, and he should have sunk with it.

What happened next was in 2005 HP decided they needed an expert hatchet man to trim the fat. Its hard to find an id--t with no soul. You know the kind of guy who doesn't think twice about ruining a company, or care about anyone. Someone who can sleep well at night after terminating 25,000 employees and cutting benefits. Sadly the bozo did more than trim fat, he obliterated whole lines of business and drove the company into a death spiral. Luckily for HP the id--t couldn't keep his hands to himself, and got the boot in 2010. The world saw him for what he was a ruthless, heartless wanna be philanderer. Lets get real, MH is ugly, had he been slightly attractive he probably would not have been embroiled in a scandal.

None the less that should have been the end of a long sordid career of less than mediocrity, the end a demoralizing mean individuals that severely damaged two companies.

After MH left NCR BN stepped in as CEO and rescued NCR from certain death. HP was reeling from the horror and has yet to recover over 12 years later.

For some as yet unknown reason. LE decided to place his healthy company in the hands of this discredited hatchet man / goon in 2010. Please help me with this. Logic fails me... why did LE hire MH?

At Oracle his first move was to hire more sales people. Whoa? What? Invest in sales? That seems smart... but wait. The goon had a plan, the new sales people were there to replace the old ones. His next move hire college kids, "invest in the future." Sounds rational. But he showed his true colors, his next move was to bleed out seasoned professionals over a long slow period of time. Conduct national layoffs every quarter just under the warn notification thresholds. Its like someone was holding the bozo back at Oracle, he still got his way and ruined the company, it just took him 8 years to do so.

Today he has realized his dream of college kids working as cheap replacement for world class sales professionals. A penny wise and a pound foolish, bad enough. But what is his sales strategy? Flying a college kid to a customer site is expensive, he decided to build giant telemarketing hubs. His dream was to turn Oracle sales into a telemarketing operation.

His dream is one that has annoyed millions of Americans for decades. Its a nightmare so bad that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) amended the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) to give consumers a choice about whether they want to receive most telemarketing calls. As of October 1, 2003, it became illegal for most telemarketers or sellers to call a number listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Who in their right mind would think this is the way to sell enterprise software? Hey, I have an idea. Lets get a bunch of kids to annoy the C Level executives with telemarketing phone calls on a daily basis. I'll replace a world class sales org with a cheap annoying telemarketing scheme...

MH on Oracle earnings calls reminds me of “Baghdad Bob”.... the head propaganda guy in Iraq who was saying we are slaughtering the Americans everywhere while American tanks were driving down the road outside his HQ. Same as MH on calls saying Oracle is growing share everywhere and winning against AMZ, WD and SF 😂🤣🤣😂

Elementary, it takes an id--t to hire an id--t and so it goes down the chain

Breach of fiduciary duty, plus they too share the responsibility for cloud fraud. The turkey will come home to roost!

Oracles Board of Directors are amongst the most highly paid out there. They are basically friends of Larry and are paid very well do do as he says. No point being honest about the c-ap CEO’s if you are getting rich by not rocking the boat.

MH has no capabilities or competence what so ever and yet there we are. Oracle has the weakest most useless and a-- kissing Board of Directors on the face of the earth. Just plain useless

"I really don't get how a sub par cash register salesman rose to the ranks he did."

danced with the devil and sold him his soul. that's the only way an id--t like him could be so lucky.

"LE’s obsession with longevity is kind of irrelevant, he hasn’t invented immortality."

It isn't irrelevant at all -- it is evidence of his narcissism.

  1. LE used to be on the "scrooge list" of billionaires that give the least amount of money to charity. So he created his own foundation to donate to just to get off the list.

  2. The foundation focuses on aging/longevity. The aim is to try and invent immortality. So even his charitable foundation is based on his own self-interest.

LE's narcissism infects everything he touches and is linked to everything he does. Hiring MH was just an extension of that -- bringing in a someone who would stroke his ego while driving forward a strategy that is aimed at bolstering the stock price in an era when competition is nibbling away market share, customers hate the company and the technology is showing its age.

He isn't an id--t. He is very skilled at convincing the board and shareholders into believing that cutting costs is the path to improved stock performance. As a result, he has amassed a personal fortune from multiple companies with this one move. He's definitely not stupid.

However, he is a fast talking, manipulative, unempathetic, lying, cheating, narcissistic con-man who is only out for himself. He was hired by someone who values all of those characteristics because they are alike in so many ways.

MH has demonstrated to be really the worst person inthe worst place at the worst timing, and that is all completely LE's fault. they both have ignored cloud when was the right time and we had the means to start first with SunCloud. instead, they have bet everything on an old strategy not going anywhere. then they realized the were wrong, and desperately tried to jump on the bandwagon, but unfotunately again with the worst strategy ever. also Microsoft was late, but they understood what was needed and executed accordingly.

Oracle is a dying dinosaur, and it is all thanksto LE wrong decision and MH wrong execution.

LE can be excused since is an old man with no remaining neurons, but MH is just a stupid id--t unethical man.

a couple of geniuses, really.

LE’s obsession with longevity is kind of irrelevant, he hasn’t invented immortality. Two, some company founders actually care about their companies surviving them; LE clearly doesn’t, and it shows in oracle’s decline. The latter is a good indication of how long LE actually thing he has left here on earth. He clearly knows that he’s afeing fast. Get it dumbo @zkr?

He's LE's tennis buddy. Nothing else matters. LE's just bringing in a buddy into a good scam. They will eventually do SC in and then probably double MH's salary.

The top level execs are just there to make money for each other.

"Once LE is gone, he doesn’t care about what happens to oracle"

FWIW, the dude is obsessed with longevity. I don't think he's planning on kicking off any time soon. Whether or not MH and SC can keep the stock price up that long is another story.

As for legacies, once you're gone you have no say in how your company is run. I'm certain HP's founders would not be pleased with what has happened to their iconic firm.

LE is an old senile dude who is long past taking an active interest in oracle, he just needs somebody to tell lies to to Wall Street for a few years to keep the share price from crashing. Once LE is gone, he doesn’t care about what happens to oracle, its employees and shareholders. After him the deluge. Not many good liers around ...
