Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Windstream bankruptcy

Internet search for “windstream bankruptcy” brings up stock and company value analysis. A 1.48 and debt downgrades for both win and unity it will be harder to get financing as they begin to outsource things overseas to stop the bleeding as execs circle the wagons and take last minute bonuses before the money is gone and collectors come calling. Stock is now rated 3.4, in between sell and strong sell. I’m worried for all of the employees, hope they arent screwed. If top level execs are replaced (and given their golden parachutes) with new execs with bankruptcy reorg or company sell out expertise head for the hills folks

_“They clearly botched the REIT deal which means all of them must roll. I still can’t believe the feds haven’t started investigating.”_

“Stupid” and “venal” are not crimes.

I think the legal system looks primarily to the Board of Directors to protect shareholders.

That and civil litigation.

“You can't justify 'they deserve all those huge bonuses'. For what? Having a dollar stock??"

The executives pay should match the value of the company. Chapter 11 - then they owe the company money.

I couldn’t agree more. They let let people go based on performance. Why doesn’t the same performance based measure apply to them.

They clearly botched the REIT deal which means all of them must roll. I still can’t believe the feds haven’t started investigating.

Even all those stock options all those executives received in the last year - not really worth much except the same as a roll of toilet paper.

Customer service for Windstream has gone so far down hill... I called.. neeeded a payment arrangement.. (which has never been a problem for 20 years) I had to hear the gentlemen breath for 10 minutes.. could not understand him when he did talk. He told me everything was fine.. I had a feeling.. called back.. got another gentleman who told me the previous man did nothing to save my account from being suspended.. What happened to our U.S. customer service department?

This is not 'fake' news. My former department that I used to work for up until a month ago before I got a new job is going to be completely laid off in both the Rochester, NY Enterprise Repair Answer center as well as the Greenville, SC Repair Answer Center will be completely out of jobs and that department will be gone no later than this October. That department that is the best at figuring out customer's service issues and making sure the tickets go to the proper silos will now be gone, the customer experience and pleasantness of speaking to anyone with any knowledge of telecommunications will be soon out the window since I have confirmed with former co-workers as of last week that management has announced this and the ERA departments for both NY & SC will be laid off and being outsourced to the Dominican Republic.

The financial fiasco at WIN wouldn't be as bad if the money the company makes was filtered down more for the regular employees, instead of the clueless executives who are s---ing the company dry, while those that can leave have already left.

How much of the money is tied up - pay for the executives - including bonuses, and pensions that the regular employees will never see? You can't justify 'they deserve all those huge bonuses'. For what? Having a dollar stock?? Slash that and give the executives a greatly reduced salary, and same benefits/401K as regular employees. How much better would the company be financially? We will never know....$$$$$$$$

I have heard from a very reliable source that Charlotte call center has stopped hiring for customer service reps. The person told me that they do not have the call volume. If one leaves they are not replacing. Our team is the same way, but we are not in customer service. The source I know believes that they will shut the charlotte center down and keep Georgia and Iowa opened.

You might be correct No Way -

'Windstream isn’t going bankrupt. They can reduce a lot more to stay a float.'

ONLY if the current executives get booted and their replacements salaries slashed drastically.

Outsourcing the executive team to India though is still the best option for the employees and customers. They can outsource other groups, why not themselves?

Neither of these will happen though, like your posting.

Let’s get real, who should be surprised. Bad and good news, why would anyone acquire Win before bankruptcy? They wouldn’t.

More bad news. Win should file for reorganization now, but will wait until the absolute last minute just like waiting to cut the divedend.

Aurelius is going to win the battle and put the assets back with the carrier. Win did sell the assets to the REIT and pays a monthly lease fee. If you disagree, why do we pay the reit a monthly fee to use the assets? Say what you want, you sold the assets and now lease them.
