Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Isn’t a WARN notice required by law prior to mass layoff?

Not sure what’s happening in PLM/EOPS group- but isn’t a written WARN notice required by law 60 days in advance of a mass layoff? (Mass layoff being 100+ people I think?)

Since this budget news has been only verbally conveyed via management does that mean we have not come to within 60 days yet of being laid off? (Yes, I am in that group, and yes I was verbally told). I just wish we had some time frame. I’m actively seeking new employment but the time of year is not really conducive to job hunting.

The rules. For the purposes of the WARN Act a mass layoff is defined as a reduction in force that is (1) not the result of a plant closing, but (2) leads to an employment loss at the employment site[TE1] of 500 or more employees during a 30 day period, or a loss of 50-499 employees if they make up at least 33% of the employer's ...

I believe can be verbal, but has to be acknowledged by the employee. When Engines was moving to Mexico we had a mass notice and we all had to sign something stating we knew our options. (If memory serves me.) But these days Hon seems to keep layoffs small and scattered and quiet (and many).

Write to your government reps and expose this offshoring junk. I'd love to see Trump start trolling our company on Twitter lol

I don't know if actually read the link to those job postings in bangalore. Although the title of the link implies such, most are for other companies.

Thanks. So. They told us all to look for new jobs because our whole department is being cut. (Funny that Honeywell just posted plm/eops/teamcenter jobs opening in India)

But nothing in writing yet. That is not the Honeywell norm is it? I mean. In 24+ years I’ve seen a lot of layoffs but not one communicated like this one.

Maybe it’s a new low!
