Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Why destroy something you bought?

They keep laying off established and component ArcSight QA Engineers, etc personal from all areas and replacing them with Costa Rica employees. After the several layoffs in the last two years, they do not waste anytime to start recruiting in Costa Rica which they will have to train from scratch, which does not mean they will be same as the people they are replacing. They have now hired more Developer engineers in Costa Rica and other's are training Costa Rica members in their job, it does not take a rocket science degree to know the next lay off will be the people that have already trained in Costa Rica. Shameful that the CEO and Executives do not care about leaving a good legacy, they only care of how much bonuses they make while destroying a great company - ArcSight will lose their Market Share while Splunk and others will take over, just like the article says. I really do not know why MicroFocus after paying millions for the merger will want to destroy the companies they are buying. It is beyond me.

Bumped from @OTPTivD-3cle. Wondering the same thing...

WOW!!! Thanks @OZCrn6E-wlt, now we know how you really feel. Terrible discriminating against older people - - do not worry you will get old too. How do you know the people who were laid off on what their experience is and their expertise is? ==> What you should do now is to contribute in making HPE (Microfocus) ArcSight even better - do NOT accept any more raises for the next several years - because you will start to make more money and then you will be older in which your medical insurance will cost more. Watch out when you reach 40 years, then your days will be numbered too no matter if you automate or not. Did you not know that part of the lay offs during the last 2 years many of them were automation engineers?

Guess what, I've been QA eng with ArcSight for more than 2 years and I guess I know why.

Reason 1: Because ArcSight QA engs simply don't know automation.

Reason 2: Because MF want to cut expense and most of the QAs around me were old (which means higher pay and high insurance cost) and QA department is the one easiest to replace.

Reason 3: 75% of the teams are Indians and they will need H visa or GC support which is a huge cost.

So destroy this company is not what HPE wants, it's most likely the demand of cutting expense from MF.
