If you are in Engineering or ISC or C&PS, and are DIRECT CHARGE to a program, then you were not part of the most-recent furlough. Boeing and Airbus both threatened assertions to HON if Engineering folks were involved. I charge directly to programs, but not in Engineering and was part of the furlough.
I have heard, too, that the next furlough will be the "holiday" period between Christmas and New Years. However, the previous poster brings up a very good point about holiday pay. So if that is the case, does that now mean a furlough the week of the 19th?
I have moved ALL of my vacation out of December. Just in case.
Also, I have heard that the first week of January will be furloughed. I have no idea if that will include Engineering, ISC, C&PS ,etc., or only "expendable" employees.
Also, don't be surprised if dental will no longer be covered next year. If that does happen, it will be the same as a pay cut plus we have the joy of finding dental insurance. And I think we all know that healthcare costs will be going up. The question is, of course, by how much.
I miss the old days...really old days...when Tim was an engineer and had not yet drunk the Kool-Aid or bent over for Cote so far that he really can touch his toes.
