After several weeks of anxiety and agitation I decided to just forget the whole thing and start focusing on all my projects. I put in for the voluntary RIF since I am going to retire at the end of the year so have been disappointed in the lack of information and/or action.
However, I have felt much better this past several weeks in getting my focus off the RIF and back to my work. I think it is best to focus on the fact that Honeywell is a pretty good company. Most companies focus on the bottom line such as ROI to stockholders, etc.
The time where companies were more compassionate about their employees is mostly over so get over it. Have a grateful heart and do the work you were hired to do.
