Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why do people support Terrible Leaders?? Who would defend Charlie??

Let me know if I forgot someone, but I automatically conclude they:

  • have an ulterior motive
  • work in Corp Comm
  • came over from JP Morgan
  • are an ar-e-kisser
  • know they are being paid too much money for their skill-set
  • are an apathetic “follower”
  • are a new employee, on their first day
  • are crossing their fingers behind their back
  • think Taco Bell is a telephone company
  • confuse competence with arrogance
  • confuse leadership with authority
  • confuse “maximizing shareholder value” with unethical behavior
  • have an “it’s only stealing if you get caught” mentality
  • are long the stock, and the stock options.
  • actually fell off a turnip truck
  • think a fat wallet makes up for a small pen!s (it doesn’t)
  • think money can buy respect and admiration (it can’t)
  • think they’re a real-life Gordon Gekko (you’re no Michael Douglas)
  • should study how Madoff got over on smart people
  • trust the guy nicknamed “Chainsaw”. (r u crazy?)
  • belong to The Old Boys Club
  • are a BOD member standing by their decision, come he-l or high water.
  • will eventually be Catfished
  • are really high

Okay, I’m going to take a stab at which one of my categories you fit:

  • came over from JP Morgan
  • know they are being paid too much money for their skill-set
  • confuse “maximizing shareholder value” with unethical behavior
  • trust the guy nicknamed “Chainsaw”

How did I do??

None of this is unique to "the firm"... Happens everywhere. People behave ridiculously for money.

Charlie is just doing what has to be done

You are naive if you think any other person in his role would not do the same

“They are irrelevant short term employees that most people don't even listen to anymore. In a year or two max they will be gone. I was here first “

The “I was here first” makes their point about ownership. That’s pretty territorial. This attitude has been one of the challenges at Wells. I hope this attitude goes away.

Wait Taco Bell is not a baby Bell? I thought it gave real meaning to the pay as you go plan, cause it makes you go!

You're right, we don't get to vote worthless execs off the island, but eventually sh-t company performance catches up with them. CS / SP won't be at WF much longer. They are irrelevant short term employees that most people don't even listen to anymore. In a year or two max they will be gone. I was here first and I really don't give a damn what they think. Their decisions are absolute garbage and will damage this company for years to come. The day they leave will be one of the best days in company history, and it'll be the first good day at work in a long time. Our recovery can begin then. The only unfortunate part is that so few will survive the purge to see it.

FHY. They never made this company a dime, we are the reason this company makes $20B/year, not them. They are the source of scandal and treachery, not us. They aren't leading anything. They are mooching millions per year off of us.

Or, it’s our job. We all work for people who we don’t agree with. Move on if you don’t like it. You don’t own WF, nor do I. You are an employee and you don’t get to vote leaders off the island. Yes, I know I can be cut tomorrow, but I also understood that when I joined a few years ago, as I learned 20+ years ago working elsewhere. Other large companies get it. Unfortunately long term WF employees do not. Once you understand it, it gets easier. Try it.

  • Have nothing going for them besides their ego inflating job @ WF and have to denigrate their teams and anyone "below" them to show how "powerful" they are.
