Are we all going through the Stages of Grief? Just judging by these boards:
- Denial
First announcements, everyone was in shock. How can they do this? Are they stupid? They will lose good people! It doesn't make sense!
- Anger
A couple of days later. F. Stankey (or insert your group's "leader"). AT&T is going down, there is no saving it! This company was always garbage!
- Bargaining
Maybe they'll change their minds? What if they can't get hubs ready in time? Maybe we can work for another year and then get severance? Maybe a city I'm in will be one of the hubs?
- Depression
This is today. How can anyone concentrate at work? How are you all getting through the week after this news? There are no other opportunities in the industry. The leadership had failed us. :'(
And lastly,
- Acceptance
We're gradually getting there. This is likely exactly why they're dragging it out and making people wait and crave any new information. Once we reach the "Just give me my severance and let me go" state, they will finally pull the trigger. The deal might not be as good as we hope, but at that point, most of us will just be tired and won't care anymore.
