Care is a subjective thing. If you are a traditionally high value employee that is now emotionally overwhelmed, be more objective about what is/not important in your work day. If your role allows, don't volunteer or look for new work to do. Do fewer things and execute to the highest degree you are capable of.
The bank doesn't value high output workers, it doesn't see your struggle, your sacrifice. Take as much control as you can back. Do not enable anyone to slack or act like their admin (reminders or call attention to things unprompted).
Some roles are limited in choices on how to craft their workflow. Where possible, pivot care towards what you can do well with limited stress. Stop extending olive branches or enabling low performers to thrive.
Hard to give a one size fits all approach, yet at the same time we all need to show up every day and actively manage our work. Passivity is the enemy. Channel your energy towards concentrating work into fewer hours and use the free time to be a better person (exercise, learn something new, etc).
Collecting a paycheck is much better when you choose to focus on not being miserable or having a bad attitude at work. There are ways to be above it w/o coming across as co--y.
