Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

So many lies and distortions from Stankey and Santone Return to Office videos and letters

They say in past 3 years, nearly 70% of management employees have experienced big changes in their work life: they’ve either just joined the company, have a new manager or have moved into a new role and that is a reason to move people to Dallas and end work g virtual. But the 70% includes every management/non bargained employee which is retail, call centers, technicians, field business and IHX sales, etc. Those groups make up probably 95% of the movement referenced but aren’t a part of any impact. Only a fraction of our non field changes jobs and has new managers each year and many of them already know their new boss prior to the change because they worked in the same business unit.

So many distorted facts, they are like politicians scheming and spinning the facts to fit their narrative,

AT&T is a very green company, in Whitacre Tower, they have stacks of $20 dollar bills laying around to light your cigars.

AT&T a green company. They bleed greenbacks because their culture and management is and has been horrible for years.

there is a lot of credibility to your comment here regarding blackrock. just look at the deal we made with them regarding gigapower. if you comply, blackrock can be your best friend.

I thought we were a “green” company? How much more emissions will be produced by all these vehicles on the road every day?

Watch the posts on the "latest" page of this site. It's not just AT&T that is doing RTO. It's most large companies and the effort is driven by Blackrock, on behalf of our corrupt fed gov't, that is trying to cover up the fact that our nation's cities are now wastelands. That's because an election is coming up next year. So, while the managers may be horrible at AT&T (and other companies), it's really not their decision to RTO. It's the money changers that are dictating it.

I have to work a lot of odd hours and be on call in my job. Everyone I deal with is located elsewhere. Wfh makes doing my job easier. We don’t collaborate face to face unless you want to fly me or others to be together, but there’s no collaborating with what we do. Doesn’t make sense. To top that off, I’m told I might have to move to Dallas and I’m already living in a hub location.

Based off of the verbiage it appears you are a salaried employee. If so, then you really do not have a set 8 hour work day. Have fun with your statement of not working to complete a task. See how long that attitude will work for you.

"You've been goofing off long enough. Time to get back and get real work done."

You mo--ns keep posting this garbage and you are completely wrong. For three years I have worked 12 to 16 hour days at home. I have woken up for 2:00AM installations. I have stayed up until 11:00 PM while TAC completes. I have worked Saturdays and Sundays. Just because you're jealous doesn't mean we aren't working. I can't count the number of hours I've given up with my family to work or to take a phone call while working at home. But I tell you what, that is going to stop right now. You want me in the office from 7:00 - 4:00? Cool. You get 7:00 - 4:00. And I'm also going to take a lunch for the first time in two years. Coffee breaks? Smoke breaks? 15 minute breaks for ergonomics? Sounds like a plan to me. You guys just screwed yourselves out of 4 to 5 extra hours of productivity a day. But, hey! At least we're all in an office where it's so loud that we can't conduct our regular business!

They tell employees they did a terrific job working from home during covid but they can do better collaborating in the office 3 days a week. They have no clue what the employees do, who they work with and where the people they work with are located.
