People likely to post on GD are probably <5 years out of college and have little clue how things COULD be. Plus younger folks don't tend to question things so much, so may be satisfied with how things are.

I have been with quite a few firms. I moved for different reasons. When I came to WF, I figured it couldn’t get any worse (I’ve been proven wrong) but at least WF dirty laundry is known it’s the firms that you don’t hear about (yet) you should be worried about…

So then it sounds like you’ve bounced around a lot. You’ve worked in “he-l-holes”, implying multiple companies. You’ve worked at “real good companies”, implying multiple companies. And you left those real good jobs to come to a scandal-prone bank known for exploiting its customers and firing Whistleblowers? And you’ve worked in “various roles” at Wells Fargo, implying you’ve bounced around in WFC. I’m just trying to get a handle on what kind of person thinks Wells Fargo is a good place to work.

I've worked at two of the others listed and both were just as sh---y. Soulless corporate jobs suck everywhere. Your manager and teammates are the only thing making it tolerable.

I’ve also worked in real good companies as well. So your point is invalid. This board doesn’t reflect the whole Wf population, some people actually are progressing here….

Good to know Wells Fargo ranks high to someone “who has worked in he-l-holes”.

That explains the differences of opinion. Employee comes from a well-managed company with ethical leadership who considers their employees to be assets: Wells Fargo is a terrible experience. Employee comes from a “he-l-hole”: Wells Fargo is a win!

I notice many of the positive ratings are from newer employees, people who haven’t been around long enough to have been burned in all the many ways Wells Fargo finds to burn their employees.

My cousin came from a good company to work in our Compliance Dept for what was painted as a promotion and a jump in pay. He’s a smart young talented guy with a great attitude, and had nothing but positive things to say about his experience at Wells Fargo… for the first year..

He has already quit, saying:

  1. Promises were made but not kept
  2. His area was consistently short-handed which required him to work long hours. He was exempt, so of course no OT.
  3. His manager was new himself, and located in another city, so was he felt like the area had no leadership.
  4. Our technology is not what he expected for a Top 5 Bank.

Contrary to what some are going through in their individual roles at WF. Not all have the same problems. A lot of people are thriving and doing well. I’ve worked in some he-l holes and I can in my various roles here I haven’t had any issues at all.

Since CS/SP came along? 0.0. before that? Depends on the LOB.

Simple: score is dependent on the number of jobs Wells posts to the site

I think our HR is massaging numbers on Glassdoor, it's like Yelp - you can complain and influence the score.

The number alone is tough to form an opinion objectively. So many factors! My experience for both role and department in technology is in 2.5 - 3.0 range (grade C or D). Benefits are around that 3.7 range I guess (PTO days weigh more positively where the once a year 401k match is an opposing force).

Glassdoor is not truly as anonymous as posting here, maybe some people would temper their true rating and critical comments.
