Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Packages?

So sorry for those who have been impacted this round so far. Any insights on the package they are offering this round of lay offs? I know previous layoffs were two weeks of severance for each year of service. Is it still the same?

@cb @cb this usually entails agreeing to and fulfilling certain conditions set forth contractually upon separation. When I was terminated in May 2025 it was work for one more month, return your WFH/corp equipment, and dont let the door sm--k you on the way out. Some other conditions were no attempt at retalitory legal action, no public (online) displays of discontent or negative sentiments regarding the company, and so on. Any violation will result in legal action included the return of severance funds to the company, however that proceeds.

@c8. At the least, use AI to run the materials through to determine if there is anything you should be aware of or anything not consistent with your state's laws.

@OP call added yesterday, attended today. I can’t speak to others but my package was number of years service x 2 and then the same for whatever a COBRA payment is, lump sum multiplied by double your years of service. In grand scheme it’s better than nothing but the WorldPay acquisition is a shambles. Global has bought a lemon that was fudging numbers due to being private and now the curtain has been pulled back to reveal the Wizard and the numbers are awful.

@c8 the “your package depends on your cooperation” is super vague to me. How do they measure your cooperation? How do they outline your cooperation in your severance agreement?

Had my call. 2 more payday then it's goodbye. They actually want me to bring them up to speed on all my stuff before the week is over. I was told my package depended on my cooperation and that i could not discuss the details of my package with anyone. They advised me I should sign my paperwork as soon as it is sent. I don't understand the whole hush hush piece here. This whole thing seems shady to me. Cant afford an attorney. Anyone have one in the friends and family role.

Look into your state laws on the PTO payout.

I was given 1 month's notice. Package was 2 weeks per year served. $250 per week of severance to offset COBRA (or whatever I wanted to use it for) costs. NOTE - No payout on PTO. Take it now if you think you are on 'the chopping block'

@OP I was told yesterday. Two week of pay per year. Capped at 26 weeks if you are US based. $250 per week of severance to offset health care costs. Benefits end on your last day. No payout on PTO so I just put 7 days in the system. I have some follow up questions about equity compensation and FSA accounts. I got the 30 working day notice so 2.5 paychecks to come.
