Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

It’s hard to trust anyone

I don’t know when work turned into everyone trying to prove they’re the last one who should be cut, but that’s what it feels like now. People chase approval, grab credit, and act friendly until there’s a chance to make someone else look bad. It’s draining.

The worst part is that this isn't accidental. When leadership rewards this kind of behavior, people learn fast. I'm relatively new in my career but if this is how it's always going to be, well fu-k.

I only had a couple of people that I trusted in my entire career. Most people at Dell are unhappy backstabbing losers. Watch people closely. Watch when someone leaves, and then everyone talks badly about them, even though they were buddy-buddy before. It is all fake; these people are fake. IMO the whole IT field is toxic—all these "silverback" IT dorks flexing their muscles. All they are doing is projecting their low self-esteem because they never got a degree, a degree in basket weaving, no certifications, or they just have low IQ's. Work should be about teamwork and working towards a goal together!

Because the culling of office tech jobs is ramping up. Most will be on UBI by the end of 2027

Dell is now filled with POS management. You shouldn’t trust anyone.

I'm having the opposite problem. I've been trying to prove I should be the first person cut but so far it hasn't worked.

Welcome to Dell. I say Dell because Dell is the worst. Other companies have some of the same but there are still good ones out there. Dell is sh*t.
