Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

There’s a 0% chance 10% will be cut

Anyone have any realistic estimates of how many will be impacted by the alleged layoffs this week?

Low level employees have a total comp of $150k so that number is super low. Also the VPs are older so their medical bills are way higher than the lower employees

Did some math because I’m a nerd. If they do cut 10%, that’s roughly 8800. If those 8800 make an average of $150k (which it’s probably more as I’ve heard they are targeting VPs, etc.) then they would save $1.3 Billion with a capital B! Probably not until next year with severances, but damn. Now I get it. Can’t blame them lol

They did 9% last year. So why not 10% this year?

Layoff rumors…They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
